Thanks Deneter and Freddy, I totally agree with you.

I honestly feel that it's a matter of being worn out by the cycle of waiting, happiness (visiting), depression (leaving), waiting more, etc. over the years. Especially now that I see others moving on in their relationship and we're in the same place. Especially now that it'####### the 2 year mark of getting nowhere with the employment.

Hopefully I'll hit another peak of strength soon.

Maliciant - We've talked about it, but the situation is the same here too. I'd need a full-time job and apartment by the summer and everyone has advised to keep with the plan of me moving there, especially since we've been approved already. Worst case, I can stay with him and his parents there. Here though, we'd have no back-up option. But aye, ee can always move back to the UK if things don't improve.

So according to the Vjer who just went to the SS office, the K-1 holders can work for 3 months and get a SSN that entitles them to work cause that's what the SS offices are instructed to do, even if they don't have the EAD stamp from JFK. This is what the VJ guides say according to the flowchart.

As long as you have a SSN the employers shouldn't give you a hard time employing you for three mos. The real issue is how many employers are out there who will hire someone only for three mos?.

GEMMIE - The visitng and leaving has taken it's toll on me as well, it's so painful coming back. Now imagine missing 3 instead of 1, that's my case rightnow and the only thing that is keeping me are these words "WE ARE CLOSE", I just keep saying that to myself. But I have to be honest it's taking it's toll onmy health. Like I always say I just have to be strong.....I pray that everything will go well with you Gemmie and that you will figure it all out soon with a nice and happy outcome. Take Care!

Gemmie, I cant remember all the 300+ pages of messages here, so I dont remember exactly why you cant move along more quickly now that you have the NOA2 - schooling? His job situation? Not sure. But I will (reluctantly) say this: Marriage is a big step. A big commitment. And a LOT of work.

With that little (and obvious) being said, you are young still - I am not going to make any lecture and dont really want to hear about that comment from anyone else either (I got married young the 1st time too - lasted 17 years, at least a few of those many days were probably happy). But my point is, I think no matter how old you are, things will change for you as time goes on. That means things that interest you now probably wont in the future. I do believe you can make a good choice and a good life even getting married when your young, but certainly things change faster when you are young. Hopefully you can change together. I would imagine things are changing for you now (like friends getting married, having kids, moving to new locations, etc) as well as changing for him (finished school, looking for a job, new place to live, etc).

I cant really imagine giving up my current life to move to another country. Certainly, I think I would be with the one I loved, but it must be difficult and scary.

Long Distance relationships are tough too, but they wont necessarily get better when your together - especially if you have never lived together. Someone that you love today could be someone you hate living with tomorrow, or they could be the best thing that ever happened to you.

Last, as time goes by and you are apart, you can choose to make it better or let it get worse. Both people play a part in that. Certainly, things are always better for me when I am with Grace, but everytime I have to say goodbye for now, I hate it and our relationship gets worse after about a month or two, but then tends to improve again when we both realize that we want the same things ultimately - it is just the struggle and time apart that we hate.

Whatever happens, all I would suggest is make your decision carefully.

I agree, very well said, things change constantly, from one point i find LDR to be a very good test for the love of two, i'm thinking, well if we can pass this, then we can pass everything, we are apat now, we meet other people, we think sometimes, why i cant find someone here, closer to me, no waiting, no visa stuff, and with this we do realize how much we love this person who's waiting for us, our lives could have been easier, but we choosed this way, because we believe in this, we believe our love will last forever and we believe this person is actually our SOUL MATE :) I choosed how to live my life, i know what i want and need and i really feel at peace with me and the world around, other peoples life is going the way we want our to be, thats alright, let them be happy, we can do it too, our turn will come, we can have anything we want, life is a circle that rounds all the time, one day one is happy then next its you :)

Gemmie- You're certainly not the only couple that has these kind of troubles. People always talk about how hard this all is because they miss their fiance, but rarely talk about how hard this is because of the strain it puts on the relationship. If there's a couple that finds being apart easy then they probably shouldn't be together. My point is it's normal to feel the way you do, i'm sure most of us have at some point during the time spent apart. Hope you feel better!

Terri- We do the movie thing too. A DVD and a webcam is a great way to make it feel like you are together. Even though we press play at the same time, for some reason my DVD always goes miles ahead of Ashley's. So i will start laughing and she has no idea why.

Very nicely said, I agree with you.

So many times I've been asked about finding someone local and I always say that it's not about finding someone that's convenient, it's about finding someone that you love. My dad still tells me that it's a "pity" that Bill lives in America and that it's a shame he isn't British, but I just tell him that this is the way things are, and I won't find someone like him, ever. This is the reason I've put so much of myself into this relationship.. I have to say, the seperation is a B$TCH and I never imagined that it could get harder as time goes on, but it can, and does. I really do want to stay strong through these times and do believe that I can find my way to bounce back.

Positive perspective is always helpful. I used to whine and say "It's been sooo long since I've seen you!" and Sebastian would correct me by saying, "Hey now, remember-every day that passes is a day that brings us closer together!"

I totally agree with what Neil said- if you find it easy to be apart then that's probably not a good thing.

Gemmie - I know its testing and its hard, and I know the feeling of the energy simply drained out of you (for me its hard, im happy for everyone who has been approved honestly, but really annoyed and upset that it hasnt been our turn), but you got to look at the bright side, July you will be together, for as long as you wish to be in the same place for the rest of your lives. There will be no reason to have to say good bye at airports and not see him for months on end (less one of you decides to join the military o.O) it is almost over. And I know im having trouble looking at that but when your down, and stressed and fighting remember the little things, bits that make you want to scream from roof tops that you love him and hold onto those.

HD - your getting so close girl!!! Can you smell it yet?

Sggt (i think thats right?) - grats on your approval :dance:

Dani - Good luck with the sentor, if Chris (mine) gets to USCIS next week and walks away without notice of us being approved thats the next step we are going down.... but we need a case number to be able to do that.

Shan - Hope that package makes it to you quickly :)

Looks like there will be a lot of August filers making trips through POE in the USA for the last time through Feb, March and April, I really am hoping that I get to join that line during March which was what we were orginally aiming for....

*hugs* to all my august family this morning because I could really use some and im sure there are more feeling the same out there today.

Hope everyone is having a swell Friday...as for me, I am just looking forward to next week approvals for CSC because this week was pathetic!

Just wanted to mention that the faxes I sent to CSC regarding why I don't have my approval yet (I sent the faxes back in the second week of January) I got back IN THE MAIL today with a general letter saying "thank you for contacting the CSC regarding your case status...blah blah blah...and they put a tracking # or some kind of stamp on the letter and said to find a resolution by calling the Cust Service line...the usual b.s.....". It is so ironic yet so typical of immigration to do ridiculous things like this, they don't bother to tell you why you are not approved, YET THEY TAKE THE EFFORT TO MAIL BACK ALL requests/faxes/letters sent to them by us AND THEY EVEN ASSIGN NUMBERS TO THEM and they send all of this in a nice medium-sized brown envelope to us...they really must think we are morons if they think all their effort has not gone in vain...wouldnt it just be easier to explain why no approval on the phone or email or something or touch my case or even approve me?

Oh well, have a great weekend everyone!

I am looking forward to next week's CSC approvals! :star:

Snail mail was the official way to communicate with the government for so long, they've had a few hundred years practice at that... odds are pretty high it's actually punishable by hanging if they fail to handle mail right, that's the bread and butter communication, they go all out on it... or something.

You can tell I'm getting ready to head to another country where I'll be hard to reach... because everything at work is going bonkers... after close to a year, our database/file server decided it was tired and needed a break, that machine had been reset around a year ago but it was only because we were switching out UPS's or installing phone hardware... glad it happened just before I am leaving instead of just after!!!

ETA: Oh yeah, from what I've heard those numbers they assign to fax type inquiries... have no actual use... seems like there are a few different things they assign case numbers for that can't be used in any way (but they make sure you write them down!).
