For me it all happened so fast sinc eI was in the PI when all this process was going on, all I know is that I just received packet 4.

There is a Packet 3 in Japan, but not really a packet 4, but apparently, I need to wait to be notified before I can schedule the interview. I got approval for her daughter to go from philippines to Japan, and she will arrive in a few days on the assumption that getting the interview wouldnt be a problem. I am just a little worried now about the timing it will take for them to agree to the interview - it doesnt seem to be a problem with Space or number of applicants, but some internal processing they are doing. As you probably know, my situation is more complicated than most, but I have been jumping through hoops to get this done, and now I seem to be in this holding pattern with no idea how long it is going to take. Everyday day that goes by is a day closer we are to when she wont be able to travel and travel is getting tougher for her anyway.

I think you mentioned receiving a letter from Philippines that it was ok to schedule the interview right? How long after you submitted the DS-230 or other documents did that take?

AHH!!!!

I have been keeping up with the posts for a while and at least there were other people in the same boat :) Looks like everyone is getting approved now. I filed August 19th...and I haven't had a touch since 8/22/08. What is going on?? I called my congressman and they said they would look into it and they have called USCIS but it's been a week and USCIS hasn't gotten back to him. I called USCIS acting mad but they gave me a different answer: Some cases may not be processed in order and that I wait until 6 months have passed. What do you guys recommend?? Can someone approved recently perhaps send me a case number since I heard the case numbers are processed in order...I was doing ok during the wait because I knew everyone else is waiting, now that it seems the day has passed, it's nuts.......thoughts?
