What to do after getting the NOA2... is actually the same thing as before, you have to wait some more, they'll send your petition to NVC, after a few days NVC will assign a case number and send it to the embassy (usually, sometimes people get stuck in AP/AR, pray you don't need to know). You can call NVC after about a week or so and ask them for the case number if they've got one, find out if it's been sent to the embassy yet (they can tell you when and using that date you can find out when it arrives at the embassy).

What you really need to do though is start reading up on the embassy reviews, and checking out the regional forum your embassy is in. Part of why you don't know what to do after the NOA2 is because up until that point everyone is in the same process so everyone is talking about that part, but once you get your NOA2 there is a short visit to NVC and that's where everyone has different things to do based on their countries requirements/processing. Each embassy has different requirements based on local laws and different behavior/burdens of proof. I haven't read much on pakistan but the number of people that seen to end up in some form of administrative process/review (think of it as a horrible extra delay presumably for security checks) in the country seems pretty high, it seems almost any time I see someone talking about it they have the pakistan flag. I imagine it's not a very easy embassy to deal with, so seriously, get to work researching what to do in the regional forums, you probably should have been doing this from the beginning here! I recommend even the canadian's and brits spend time in their regional forums too though they probably have the least need based on the fact that those countries are just america with funnier accents (similar legal structure, religious views, and economies).

Maliciant - who can call NVC? Does it matter if I call them instead of SO? What details do they need to track if my petition approval has reached them?

This guy doesn't seem to be in now, so i'll help him answer...

Basically you or your fiance can call..

Call this number 603 334-0700

In the options dial 1 then 5 to speak to live person (you have to speak to live person as K-1 are not in the automated system)

the operator will ask you for your filing receipt number

Your fiance's name and date of birth

Your name and date of birth

and probably will ask you when you got your NOA 2

They close at 12am everytime zone, it is recommended to call early in the morning or night time as it is less busy and the hold time is very short. afternoon tends to be busy and you'll probably get a busy signal (it's normal, don't freak out) also the computer operator won't let you stay on hold...

Good luck on your Journey!!

LUISH in your timeline its Vermont you filed in and in your profile California?? which one is right :) you should correct to see an estimate of your approval :)

Chuck & Grace,,,i dont think i'll be approved soon, with this processing time of CSC...but thank you for the wish anyway :)

Its Vermont time now, as it was for California a month ago,,,as Maliciant said...too bad for me they missed me then and Marm too :D

Thanks for the remark about me having registered at two places, what happened was that the first time i sent the k 1 visa petition for my fiance to CSC ( this was year and a half ago), but since she went back to her country due to family's health issues, then i re-send it, to VSC, i've already corrected that....

Thanx...

Actually, considering your CSC, I cant believe your not yet approved. CSC has processed most of Sept, Oct and already doing November. They seem to have a few stragglers here and there, but they had been moving quickly.

I am pulling for you! CSC people need some happiness too - we cant leave it all fort the VSC people (even though they are really in need considering the last month or so!).
