August 2008 Filers

Do you have a number for the Vermont Center. I keep calling the 800-375-5283 and all i get is a live robot, that seems to be reading from a script. WE ARE PROCESSING MARCH 2008.........

Looks like most of us August filers are already preparing for the medical/interview or at least out of NVC...

For those of us STILL WAITING FOR APPROVAL, like me...this week seems to drag on, doesn't it?

Still hoping for approval this week, I don't understand why it is taking so long...especially since I already received an RFE and I sent it back and they resumed processing since January 6th, 09....most other people with RFE's got approved 1 week after, or at least 2-3 days after their RFE...I hope I am not stuck is some type of security check...

Does anyone know whether they send RFEs initially in the adjudication process or is it after they have reviewed everything that they just send the RFE and then make the decision based on that?

Looking for some comfort as to why no NOA2 yet...

Well gumbo, as Fred says they might tell you the same... my fiance is calling them almost everyday, and they ALWAYS ay the same .... but maybe you get some luck and talk to the key person

MARM yes I think you should start calling them on monday .. you can still wait this week for your approval, after your RFE you should already have your approval!!!

Hello everyone it is nice to hear about the updates on NVC, interviews and donuts. To everyone still waiting, the service centers need kick it gear and approve each of you already clearly you have waited plenty of time now. I am recovering from trip to the emergency room and now am on antibiotics for what the doctor thinks is early stages of appendicitis brought on by stress. I told him it is early stages of appendicitis brought on by waiting for an NOA2 and my body is still recovering from the shock of actually getting it. I am back in full-time University classes so I will be super busy but keep everyone updated on the progress. I pray that they approve those waiting and quit making MARM wait for RFEs and whatever other excuse they are using. Good luck everyone and limit the stress and donuts.

Resend your response to the RFE DAILY until it is taken care of. When I got an RFE (sort of for expedite request), I actually never received it from them but by calling, I found out there was an RFE - I sent the information, then waited. I called later and then got the name of the person I was supposed to send it to. So I sent it again. Still Nothing. So I started writing letters to the person I sent it to asking the status and resending the original submission. I also sent them to the Director (which was worthless). But when the guy called me he said "I just received your response" - I had sent it weeks earlier. So maybe your response never made it to the right guy or your file. I would send it again, and again, and again, with coverletters saying you havent got a response and want to MAKE SURE THE APPROPRIATE PERSON RECEIVED YOUR RFE RESPONSE.

I think they write an RFE as soon as they see a problem and stop there. No since wasting time to complete the rest of it becuase by the time the RFE response comes, they will have forgotten your case and need to review it again anyway. That is why you can get multiple RFE's.

Oh dear...so you are saying I should send them my response to the RFE again by mail even though the status on my application says: "RFE response received and resumed processing Jan 06, 2009" ? I sent back the RFE USPS priority with delivery confirmation so I know they got it, but I don't know of course the name of my adjudicator for my case. Is there a way of finding out who the adjudicator is for my case?

I sure am crossing my fingers and toes and ears for everyone that is still waiting and for all of us still muddling through tasks.....

My "task" for the day was getting my Employer letter.....YES I know I should have gotten it a long time ago but thought it would be best to have it "fresh". I mistakenly believed that I could print off verification from our HR site...actually you have to go through this third party clearing house of some crazy sort. (Does EVERYthing go through clearing houses these days???)

So they tell me that they can't give it to me they have to give it to the inquiring party for a fee. I let them know that I was pretttttty sure that if I tell the American Embassy that they have to call an Insurance Company (regardless of how big and currently embarrasing we are) to ask for something and pay a fee they're head will spin off into space.

So, after opening a "work request ticket" it was decided it could be handled internally.......

Moral of the story...if you've not checked into this yet...do so.

Next item: I keep forgetting to ask y'all about this...am I being paranoid in thinking that R and I are being tracked in a system as far as traveling goes? We went to N Ireland to see his family and on the way home out of the WHOLE line of people boarding the plane (after security etc) they chose the two of us ONLY to check our passports. I thought it quite odd....

Youre going to like this one, i called again and spoke to another person. This person told me they are processing March 08 and it looks like the time frame is going to be at least another 8 months for Aug 08 filersh. I fell off my chair, where is he getting this calculation from ???????????

I don't know what the heck that guy is talking about...8 more months????!!!! Now you know very well that cannot be possible. I know that not every K-1 filer at either VSC or CSC becomes a VJ member, but we can safely say that VJ has enough statistics to prove that whatever that man is talking about is a load of bull because so many Aug 08 filers have been approved and still are being approved. I just cannot believe the ####### these USCIS customer service pple tell us.

I DONT BELIEVE THEM EITHER!!!! They did told my fiance that we might be needing to wait 150 days more!!!!!! I just dont want to believe this!!!! I want my NOA2!!! A September filer from Brazil just got approved today ... from VSC!!!! we are our approvals??????????????????

from the tone of their voice and the way they talk to you, it is obvious that they are reading off a paper, you can't accept what they tell you, you have to call them and demand answers, keep demanding until they do something. you are long over due, its time to be in high proactive gear now!!!

The last time I called, the first thing I said was, "I need to speak to an immigration officer, because customer service can't help me, so either get me an IO or a supervisor", and the lady who answered the phone said," I AM an IO". And she was giving me bull also..."it wont be longer, blah blah blah"....so whom do I demand to speak to so I can get answers?

I promise myself I will do this after 5 days! Usually I am a very very polite person and I hate it when pple b&!ch especially since I used to work in customer service while in college/univ, so I know how it is, but this is it! I have given them enough time and I have been too nice, now its time to be mean and b&!ch!

I promise myself I will do this after 5 days! Usually I am a very very polite person and I hate it when pple b&!ch especially since I used to work in customer service while in college/univ, so I know how it is, but this is it! I have given them enough time and I have been too nice, now its time to be mean and b&!ch!

you can't be polite to the USCIS people, you'll get turned away with useless information.
