The forms are in English right? Or Not? My fiancee does not know English, she would not be able to translate them and then fill them out correctly. If i am wrong please correct me, i don't know about those procedures. Thanks

I guess that makes sense, since the forms can be filled in electronically it makes perfect sense to fill them out and send her the final result, to have her sign and date it. Is it that she speaks no english or poor english? The interview itself my be difficult for her, so I'm assuming you are fluent in her langauge, are you able to make the interview with her? I realize the official red flag is not having a common langauge but I strongly suspect that in many cases not speaking english will make it much harder to pass the interview (especially if they don't do something as simple as providing non-english instructions for forms which is relatively easy to do compared to translating someone in person).

Yes we both speak Russian, i was born in Tashkent and lived here for over 11 years. I know its not good that she does not speak English but i hope it would not be a big problem at the embassy. I will also try to make it over there for the interview. I am just still waiting for NOA2

happy sunday everyone!!

Happy sunday to everyone

Habibi, if your fiancee doesnt speak english I think that wont be a big problem, only helo her filling correctely each form, you can do as CandyLovesAhmed told you, is a good option.

Maliciant I hope they wont have a problem in their embassy with the interview, every interview I have had here in Venezuela for turist visa, the interviewr is american but speaks spanish so all the interview is in spanish ... I hope it is like that in every country! But still I think it is the best for Habibi to go with her .... I am also afraid about my interview, we are also planning to go together...:)

I hope next week, we all at the waiting room, get our NOA2:)

ugg well im really wanting his interview but i hope it doesnt come within the next 2 weeks. first i am trying to redo the sponser form but not sure. ive already done it but all i did was put n/a on everything since i'm not working and have no assets (well i have a house but not really any equalty in it) also our co sponser is covering that. but the problem is i've sent 5 things to kuwait so far to date and nothing has made it. so i'm in the proces off finding what happend to the last thing. anyway i wont have the money so send anything else thru anywhere (dhl ect) for 1-2 weeks:( really i dont see why they make you do all this in countries that basically have no postal service. we are both really nervouse that we wont get it there in time. does anyone have any ideas?

I hope someone can give me a quick answer on this.

My Fiancee is filing out the DS156. She was previously married. My question is for #18

The question says: Spouse's Full Name (Even if divorced or separated. Include maiden name)

Alright, so maybe this is a stupid question, but #8 ask for Maiden name and #9 ask for other first or middle names used. Since she is divorced and we are engaged, it doesnt seem right to put her ex-husband's name here becasue that is no longer her spouse.

What is she supposed to put for this answer? Thanks.

Hi Chuck, I think the answer is yes, she must write her ex husbands complete name.....

Question No. 18: Complete name of your spouse:

This question must be filled out completely. If you are ‘SINGLE’ then you must designate (N/A) to the following questions. If you are divorced, separated or widowed you must still fill in all information about your previous spouse(s).

Thanks, I think you are right, but I dont like the wording of the question - seems really unclear, but I guess since it is a general question for all circumstances, maybe that is why it is so poorly written.

I dont know if this matters to anyone or not, but since August seems to have a lot of people working on final approvals, I thought I would pass this along to others.

I have seen a lot of talk about 125% income requirement.

The papers received from the embassy say that 125% is for the I-864 which is needed for AOS, but for I-134F, only 100% is required.

Doesn't really matter, for whatever reason it seems we are held to that 125% even though technically it should only be 100%... I guess if you get denied for that reason, you could possibly contest it.

Fred: You schedule an interview date yet? The 23rd might be hard to hit now, I know they were scheduling interviews really close (less than 2 weeks) right after christmas but I don't know now, I haven't seen any posts about new interview dates lately.

I know most embassies seem to have some flexibility in langauge, but I don't think they all do... I've never seen a post here of someone doing the interview in the philippines in anything but english (of course the philippines english is all but the official langauge as it's used for law and business so much... and I guess if someone did do the interview in something other than english, they'd be pretty unlikely to post a review in english here...). Russian is a more common langauge for americans to speak... so I doubt she'll have a major problem with it.
