Aarrgghh! After lurking in the depths for 276 pages I must rise up and my mostly useless two cents. I haven't had as much to fret about as we live on the same base together so we've been together everyday of this. But like everyone else we want to get on with life, since there is nothing here except the same routine everyday, and being winter, haven't seen the sun for quite some time.

We're at 147 days and nary a touch. The worst part is that this is the easy part. Geography is really going to drag the rest of this out forever. We're in the most inaccessable place and the embassy, medical examiner, and everything else or on another continent.

Let's get on with this! I've been working for .gov too long to have any patience for them.

2008-08-01: Sent I-129F packet

121 on Igor and still waiting . CSC and VSC are the same agency, they have same procedures, they have the same system by which they use for applications, they are identical in every aspect. But for one reason they strongly differ, and that CSC is back from Christmas break and that they are now on a working schedule. what is the world in going on at VSC.

is there anything useful i can do with the new case number?

Not that I know of, since china works differently and you are stuck for a few months even after they receive your petition. I'm sure your fiancee will need it for her medical and interview.... but I don't know the specifics of that embassy... just that no one seems to have much in the way of nice things to say about them... do you frequent candleoflove forums? I hear that's the place to go for that embassy.

Also, just for the record, I doubt it'll really take two weeks at NVC, I think it's typically about 3 days for k-1's barring getting hit with some kind of extra processing... the embassy will most likely have received it within the two week time frame though they are notorious for sitting on new petitions a while to keep it warm or whatever...

Not sure, I got mine a few days ago too but no use for it at the moment.

Oh - book your medical!!

Feeling real fed up.. people keep asking me if I've gotten my visa now, or when I'll get it, why Bill might not be able to come visit, why he doesn't have a job, why do we have to wait so long, why I can't go to graduation.. (when I explain that I won't have a place to stay, any money, or the patience to add another 2 months to our wait, they just say "... ohhh but it's graduation!")

I've been pretty mean to Bill lately, I shouted at him yesterday and today for no reason at all other than I'm so p$ssed off with everything. He still doesn't have a job, I'm running on empty funds, and the lack of understanding from people is getting to me.

The final straw was someone who applied in DECEMBER telling me that their fiance is moving NEXT WEEK because the US-UK process was so quick. When we sent off for the K1 in August, she bitterly told me that she would be waiting a lot longer than us and didn't offer any congratulations.. now she's all smiles and informing me about how long it took for her.

I was saying to Mara, everytime I leave the US, I wish I'd just stayed and filed for AOS (considering there was no immigrant intent on entry), I've just seen someone else do this. Bill keeps reassuring me that we're doing the right thing by waiting for the K1 but it doesn't feel that way.

Sorry guys, I don't mean to bring you down. You know how it is - 5-6 months of this argggh.

I really hope you get your approvals soon.
