Stupid vermont

I am so sick of seeing September and later filers being approved already!

You are not alone...I am with CSC and still not approved...*sigh*

I hope that you hear something next week...this waiting is really frustrating...and for me and my fiance, I don't think the waiting game will be over after NOA2, I am almost afraid to say it, but there is a very high chance my fiance will be put on AP after the interview...since he is interviewing in UK because he is there on a student visa but is originally a Pakistani citizen...so most probably, more waiting for us, because of our situation...I have yet to hear of someone in a similar situation to us not being put on AP, but the shortest AP time was 4 days for someone who was a Pakistani citizen on UK student visa...and the longest I have heard to date is 8 weeks! So unfortunately, I may have more waiting to endure after the interview!

Hang in there, at least once you get interviewed, you don't have to expect to be put on AP, and we all know that AP is a black hole...no way of knowing when it will end, all we can do is hope and pray...

Stay strong for your love and it will be soon! And then you both will look back at this whole process and marvel at how you put up with immigration #######. :star:

That really bites :(

I am still looking at flights in march, thats my version of being positive :D

Chuck and Grace:

Reread your letters from NVC carefully.......do they say it HAS BEEN forwarded....or do they say that it WILL be forwarded within a week?

I have received three letters with different dates all saying the same thing....that it WILL be forwarded.....but tomorrow will make 4 weeks at NVC.....they said they will send a letter once it is sent but I haven't received that yet.....

So, it depends on which wording is in your letters.

Both Say "Will Be Forwarded", but last week, I called NVC and they told me it was already sent on 12/30/08. Which was a little strange considering the first letter was dated 12/31/08, but I checked DHL and found a package from NH to Tokyo on that date, so I thought that was it. Now I dont know.

Due to trying to arrange a visa from Philippines to Japan for interview of my fiancee's daughter, I have a little extra time (time I didnt want to have). So I guess I need to call Tokyo to see if they received it.

But I did send them a question already, but I dont know if it was general answer or they received my case.

I heard a few grumblings from others about Manilla and $6 per call - it is over $21 for an email to Tokyo to ask a question and over $18 to call (Plus the cost of Long Distance from a land line).

Well, if they told you it was sent, than it probably was.....so, yeah, I think your best bet is to call the embassy or if you want to be sure first and save money, call the NVC again and see if you get the same answer, then if so, call the embassy.

Why is it so expensive to call the embassy? is this a fee that they impose? I use an online calling card through Enjoyprepaid.com and I just looked up the rates and it says 12.5 cents/minute for Phillipines.......if you decide to use it get the emerald plan. I also use CTAcard.com....but the difference is, with CTA you have to use all the minutes in one call or you lose time.......but with enjoyprepaid.com, you can call back as much as you want and not be penalized. Of course, I am calling to Rwanda and not Phillipines, but it may be worth a try.

I dont know why it is so expensive - this is a fee from the consulate, not including the cost of the call.

I use another card "hello Philippines" - I forgot the rate, but I dont use it so much. When my Fiancee is in Japan, we mostly just talk through yahoo or skype. When she is in the Philippines, we mainly just chat. When I do call, it is normally short and I just use Skype, but if I am calling from my cell phone, then I use one of the prepaid cards.
