You should get rid of those and just use facebook! In my opinion it is the best. MySpace is too.... I dont know, overwhelming or something. Or too bloggy. I dont know the word - I don't really like it though. Friendster just doesn't seem that great either. I was really anti-networking sites for awhile, but then I caved in right before my 10 year high school reunion, and it helped me get back in touch with so many people! I think it's great.

I would have gotten rid of the myspace a long time ago but it's pretty much proven to be a handy way to find old friends... and is still in many cases the only link to old friends I have... so instead of deleting it... I just neglect it instead (if I get a message or something I'll check it but generally I don't do anything there). The friendster my fiancee setup, I guess it's just THE networking site of the philippines, all the people she knows are on friendster (at least all the people she knows that happen to bother with social networking sites), the friendster has my info but she maintains the friends list etc... I view this one as her's so to speak... I don't dare delete it haha... maybe I'll setup a facebook at some point, I know originally you had to have a .edu address to join facebook (it was very college oreinted) otherwise I would have set one up already (I remember trying once)... but now I KNOW I don't have the motivation to maintain stuff like that... I'll only do it if I have to... for now VJ works fine for keeping in contact with august filers for me.

Nao&Mia: Hopefully it comes true, those nice dreams are really disappointing when you wake up and it sinks in it was a dream :(

Hey Chuck - so did you actually get your expedite request approved? Cause I see you got yours in about 3.5 months, even though your timeline has something about your request being rejected. I'm just wondering if they process yours faster if you request an expedite even if they don't formally accept it?

Honestly, I dont know. They took 6 weeks, I kept calling and calling, after a few weeks, they finally called me and ask for more info, I sent it immediately, then they wanted more becuase they "are not doctors", but I couldnt really get any more. But I kept calling and sending letters. I never got anything that said it was accepted or rejected, but finally the NOA2 got approved. My timeline is pretty close to AMY& ALDO's, and a few other Sept approvals, so I dont know if I just got lucky or the expedite had anything to do with it. But It looks like I am going to be held up again now unless I can get a Japanese visa for a Philippines citizen to attend an interview at the US Embassy - Seems complicated - especially trying to do it from here.

I did call the National Call Center on the day I was approved and complained a lot - talked to a level 2 supervisor and I even told them I was going to send my case to a congressman or senator for help, but I didnt want to do that and create more work for them. I dont know if that helped or not, but I got approval that night.

Hmm, so your fiancee is in Japan or her daughter? Do they all need to attend interviews to get visas?

Fiancee is in Japan (actually in Philippines currently, but she resides in Japan). Yeah, unfortunately, both have to attend interview.

We got our hard copy of the NOA2 today (a week later) and we're a little confused.

It mentions that our file has been forwarded to "the Consulate" stated and then they don't list London anywhere and they don't mention the NVC either - isn't it their job to forward it to the Consulate?

Gemmie, you said your NOA2 mentions the consulate, but did you mean the letter from NVC? 1st line on my NOA2 says "The above petition has been approved. We have sent the original visa petition to the Department of State National Visa Center (NVC) . . . ."

The letter from NVC gave a case number then said the case will be processed at: Tokyo, Emabssy of the United States, Visa Unit.

the question is, will this affect the case? what problem can u see about this case?

thank u and ur help will be a good help for her just like u are to me.

I think as long as he has a co-sponsor, he will be fine.. I've heard of approvals in which the applicant was unemployed and they just had a co-sponsor.

I think the biscuit is right, but I would have her post in the main threads to get more opinions or advice from people who are farther in the process than us and maybe have had the same experience.

Just to let you know, you can call from england too if you want. You just need your original receipt number and both yours and your fiances date of birth.

Also, don't take what the NVC and US embassy say as fact. The reason i say this is because i called the NVC on the 30th dec and they said "we have sent it to the US embassy in London today (30th of december)". I then called the US embassy a few days later and they had no record of it. However, when i called today they said "yes we received it on the 30th of december". Which i would think is incredibly unlikely that it could have been sent from America to London in a matter of hours LOL.
