Yeah i saw your timeline Mara, this sign is very annoying

Chuck - I should keep my head up but being in this waiting room for almost 5 months without any sign of NOA2 is not fun at all.

I know EXACTLY how you feel sis. You too Dani.

For me the hardest bit was watching Ewok change the predicted dates for our approval, so now my timeline just screams at me to enter my NOA1 date, a document we never got, and doesnt do anything of the slightest help.

:(

Mara- when is Chris going to visit USCIS?

Hopefully he will be going mid next week if he can make an appointment, tomorrow he has an important task entrusted to him. We finally found a place for our wedding/reception in August (looks like the 22nd to be exact) so he is ringing them to confirm and sort the deposit :D

Who knows maybe, just maybe, our NOA2 will arrive before he gets to visit USCIS... today is a good day so the power of positive thinking is there, and this dancing is going to be fantasitc for my waistline.

You can do it. I always call and I'm the beneficiary.

They want you to have your WAC number (the one from USCIS) ready (later it'll be whatever they give you), beneficiary and petitioner's day of birth. They might ask you some additional questions which you, as the beneficiary, should easily be able to answer (email(s) or phone number(s) verification). Sometimes they'll ask who you are, sometimes they won't.

The information you get from them, though, should be taken with not just a grain of salt, but an entire warehouse instead.

Maliciant, it must be fantastic having an actual date to count down to. I hope everything goes well with your trip and with the interview. The UK apparantly takes a couple of months to get an interview unless you have a reason otherwise so if all goes well, Bill will be able to attend the interview with me too (around March/April if he makes it to the UK). Oh and Fred, Mara and HD are on my Facebook list, that's how we hear what others are up to. :) You should get a page too, it's easier to keep in contact around all the AF topic-madness.

Those without their NOA2, don't forget that 1- most July filers didn't get theirs until December as the average is at the 4.5 month mark.. and 2- there were more August filers than usual because of the election. (Remember how it took a month to get the NOA1 sometimes, putting people in August?)

I remember thinking all kinds of thoughts and feeling as though we were waiting for AGES and it was at 141 days that we were approved, you're not past that by much, so yours is coming. :)

Yeah, the countdown is nice.... I'm half tempted to get one of those sig countdowns... but heh... you all know me.... I'll probably post often enough that you'll hear about the days left anyway (especially that last week)... Of course I'm obligated to complain about how poor I am... the first 2100 or so of the around 5k I expect to blow through in the next month or so is gone (plane tickets, time in manila, various fees, and of course the aos fee being a big part of that). I'm POOOOOOR... but I don't mind one bit (at least not yet)!

I have a myspace that I don't update, and a friendster that I don't really update (though my fiancee maintains it somewhat)... I don't want to get yet another social networking site... seriously... someone needs to make a kind of 'multi' social networking site where you can just maintain one account and it keeps them all maintained (like trillian does for messengers... so you don't have to run 4 or 5 instant messenger services at once).

I also had two touches, and nothing after that. What would that mean? I called USCIS and they don't even see the two touches, they told me there was no activity at all on my case. I don't know what to think...

What did you tell your congressman? I want to call mine too.

I talked to my congressman's office today, and they are calling tomorrow to see if they can get any information. Hopefully it will have some impact? I don't know. It's hard to say because this would be around the time we should get approved anyway, so how could you really say what helped or what didn't? When they called in early December the VSC said it was still being adjuncated , and the backround checks were still being done, so it couldn't be sped up, so not sure how now would be any different.... We'll see! Can't hurt right?

Oh yeah, as a side note the guy I booked the plane tickets through did get a slightly better price than orbitz (which pretty much had the same prices as all the other travel sites I checked)... saved about $5 on my own ticket (WOW!!!... j/k), not a big savings but on the other hand if you have more complicated plans or prefer to deal with a person for whatever reason when booking your flight, send a PM and I'll give you his work email.

You should get rid of those and just use facebook! In my opinion it is the best. MySpace is too.... I dont know, overwhelming or something. Or too bloggy. I dont know the word - I don't really like it though. Friendster just doesn't seem that great either. I was really anti-networking sites for awhile, but then I caved in right before my 10 year high school reunion, and it helped me get back in touch with so many people! I think it's great.

I just told them (well my stepmother did actually, because I guess her father knows him personally) that I'd applied for a K1 visa for my fiancee and hadn't heard anything in a long time and I wanted an update or to see if they could speed it up somehow. She said she'd call and 'see what she could do'. That could be nothing, but I will let you know when I hear back from her.
