That is complicated Chuck.

It is actually much worse than what I described here, but I am trying to be encouraging.

Everytime I see a notice of reply from you, I am expecting to see a note saying you were approved - it has to be this week!

Hey Chuck - so did you actually get your expedite request approved? Cause I see you got yours in about 3.5 months, even though your timeline has something about your request being rejected. I'm just wondering if they process yours faster if you request an expedite even if they don't formally accept it?

Our Timeline

09/15/07 - Met on vacation in Indonesia (where he was working)

12/07-07/08 - Various trips to meet between NJ, Belgium, Holland, the Carribbean, and Latin America

07/31/08 - Engaged

08/15/08 - I-129F sent

08/19/08 - Case recieved by VSC

1/28/09 - NOA2 APPROVED! Finally!

3/31/09 - Interview at Belgian Embassy

4/02/09 - Visa Issued

4/03/09 - Entered US

4/09/09 - *** MARRIED ***

4/28/09 - Mailed in AOS, AP, and EAD applications

5/07/09 - NOA1 for AOS, AP, and EAD

5/28/09 - Biometrics Appointment

I know EXACTLY how you feel sis. You too Dani.

For me the hardest bit was watching Ewok change the predicted dates for our approval, so now my timeline just screams at me to enter my NOA1 date, a document we never got, and doesnt do anything of the slightest help.

so i guess right now we wait for an email from NVC, correct?

Not email, snail mail. By the time you receive it, your petition should be on its way to the embassy.

If you don't get stuck at NVC, that is. We have our snail-mail letter. But our case is still rotting in New Hampshire. It's been over three weeks, now. =/

Good luck.

what reasons would cause a hold up at the NVC?

I must admit I actually - do not know.

I think it's name checks, background checks, someone's buttscratchingchecks..randomrandomrandom.

What I meant to say is - our petition/case is perfectly clear and easy. No previous marriages, no name changes, no police or any other records. But we're stuck, for a reason we don't know... and won't ever find out.

I just hope they get done with it really soon, whatever they're doing. =/

I really don't know. It's called Administrative Processing and it's explained, I think, in the special forum down this website... NVC thing. I must admit I never really took time to read it all, since all that matters is the fact that - you can't do sh*t about it. It gets stuck and you sit and wait and......... hope your petition doesn't expire in the meanwhile.

Some get out after a few weeks, some get months and, as far as I understand, some get eaten by a grue there, too.

Three weeks and something like two days later.. meh. Not calling until Monday, then we'll see.

The whole thing is even more annoying because it really seems to be happening at random.

We have our NVC letter, the one that came via snail-mail. It says our case will be forwarded to the USEM (Zagreb, Croatia) within a week. So the letter itself clearly is useless and tells you nothing.

Sure it will be forwarded. Maybe. Eventually. We learned about the AP XP days after the hardcopy. We emailed them, and then called, too. Two different people on the phone so far, two different answers.
