Hi All,

So I dissapeard over the last couple weeks. I was home with my family and not speanding a lot of time online.

So this morning i am back on VJ and back working on all my documents needed for my guys interview.

I also called the NVC to check on my petition and see if they had sent it out yet. Not only have they not sent it out yet, they say they haven't even recived it! I was approved on Dec. 19th and had my last touch on Dec. 21 (which I assumed was the day they sent it to NVC), now I know things are probablly slow with the holidays, but I am shicked they haven't recived it yet. I was really hoping it would be half way to Kenya by now. :crying:

Did you talk to an actual person at the NVC? The reason I ask is because if you use the automated service the K1 applicants are not in that system, So you have to talk to a real person.

Yup, I talked to a live person, she said it ussally takes 2-4 weeks but could take up to 90 days. UG!

My goodness! I guess they say that so that people wont keep calling. But you can see by the timelines, that most people are getting it received at the NVC in 7 -10 days maximum. I would call the CSC and see what the issue is. But I would not stop calling the NVC though.

Hi all!

let's hear it for a busy week at USCIS (both!)!

I keep reminding myself that it is only 5 months for us tomorrow since filing, and at one point in time (before i discovered VJ) I was fully prepared to wait 6 months for this step. So, reverting to my original frame of mind, we are still doing fine....

And I totally agree with the advice of Stinkerpotsam's friend. Any time I have to 'defend' our relationship or sometimes when I'm just sitting quietly and muling over our circumstances, I bust out the, well, not many people have to work so hard for a relationship! and If we can make it through this..then we're set!

Congrats, Jazz Acid, that is so soon! I'm glad this situation is working out for the better for your soon-to-be family!

Yes i am also surprised by the dates being so early. They are now getting ahead of us. Marian is going to her medical on Monday Jan 12, and it looks like the very next week she might be able to go and get the interview. Wow, we were looking at late Jan or early Feb. Things moving faster than we thought.

Also it looks like our case arrived there in Jan 5, so when i called to make the interview they probably dont have it in their system yet. So I will call today and we should get that appt. I will let you know what we get.

Yeah, if you manage to get one let me know, I think it can take them up to a week from receiving the case to put it in their system from what I've read, but there isn't a whole lot of specific detail about it (and it's embassy specific). And we also have that whole holiday break possibly throwing in some kind of extra back log... but considering the interview dates maybe there isn't so much of a backlog... either way let me know if you get a date set, and of course when and what the earliest date is... I don't expect to hit the earliest date if it's super close but I guess that depends on airplane ticket costs! I plan to call back friday manila time to try again.

Watching igor's list is one of my hobbies... and yeah, it's depressing to sit idle or go the wrong way on igors, the closer to approval you are the less likely people are to get ahead of you... but more depressing than moving backwards on the list... is when you sit idle, and watch people get approved but you never move (because they were approved after you!). The other killer is watching people at the other service center get approved while yours sits on it's thumbs...

ETA: Just saw this on the homage page... http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...;f=80&id=23 VJ is now running it's own igor's list... I have high hopes this one will be... slightly better in some ways... because if nothing else ewok is more likely to respond to changes needed quickly... but probably not likely to correct flawed time line entries still...

I understand the depressed feeling, HD..

I'm going home tomorrow (after almost a month) and even though I'm so lucky, I don't remember how it is to live alone and struggle with the separation!

I don't know when I'll be seeing Bill next either.. I'm not going to risk entering the US again in a few months and he probably won't find a job that will let him travel.. it might mean 5-6 months until I see him again. I'm dreading tomorrow so much.. we need to stay strong though, this will all be a distant memory soon.

I hope people get more NOA2s released this week. I think it will be a good week.

Remember, ours was done at 3pm on a Friday afternoon so you could very well be in the same box for Monday morning!

I don't finish uni until June.. so it will be 5-6 months before I go anywhere, depending on when I leave.

At this point, I don't think I'll be taking my dad's couch for a few weeks, especially seeing as my brother also lives there and is expecting a baby (??!!)

Yes, I was going to whine about that yesterday. I was #122 3 weeks ago then down to 117, 115, 113 now back up to 115. Making me nuts! Then one person who filed a full month later is telling me of their process going through medical, getting prepared for interview and I still don't have NOA2 filing a month earlier. it's not their fault but it sure is VSC's!

One of my congress people forwarded my complaints to USCIS which included lack of transparency, lack of accountability, why approvals are coming for September and their timeline says they're working on March and if that's true then why don't we see ANY march files coming through (they post that to keep people quiet but it's less than honest) and I also mentioned there's still money for pork programs and they can't adequately staff or find efficient staff to move files through for necessary services taxpayers expect from their government. Their call center isn't even in the same portion of the country as NVC, on and on....

I said given the fact it takes a mere 15 minutes to complete a file and they've had mine for more than 5 months, It's either lost or (the obvious) they're not serving their citizens in a manner expected having the slowest processing time for a developed country.

The other congress person didn't reply. Not sure if that will slow things down but based on how plastic and overly nice they are on the phone, it's obvious they don't want any heat from congress people looking into their work and the fact your file becomes a hot potato once a congressional inquiry is made...they just want to get it off their desk and quiet any authority so they can get back to things as usual. THings as usual is unacceptable given earlier this year it took only 3 months, some in 1 and 2 months to get NOA2. Total BS. I'm going to bug them 'till they want to shut me up by getting it done.

It would be fine if they worked in some sane order but that's not the case...the waiting time is unheard of compared to other countries. The only good out of this is I have time to investigate some business ideas my sweetie is checking through over the next few days. Found a unique jewelry maker abroad so we'll give him a try and see what sells.

I can understand you being frustrated. You have the same NOA1 and service centre as me so let's hope you get the approval soon.

I agree with you, it's horrendous what happens.. and it's annoying seeing people approved that filed a month after you.

I have to keep repeating to people that just because we were approved doesn't mean we can have our visa now... there's still a few months left of tests, paperwork and of course WAITING! Most people don't understand that. I hate having to explain the process only for the same person to ask me again if I have the visa later. It's just much too complicated and drawn out for people to follow.

Yeah but in the TV version, the immigrant is slowly poisoning the husband so she can get the family fortune and then apply for her real husband to come over! (Nevermind all the problems of actually having a husband hiding in the background, attention to details breaks movie plots!). I want charleton heston to play the husband and jessica alba to play the immigrant. "You damned dirty immigrant!"... but who should play the real husband... we'll assume he crosses into the country illegally when charleton heston discovers the plot to kill him... and of course the no good evil immigrant (the husband, not the wife) will try to help the wife kill him. Also there should be guns, explosions, some fist fighting, car chase scene... preferably with monster trucks, or tanks... or better monster trucks with a tank turret attached! I smell blockbuster!

Gemma: Maybe next time tell them that obama hates the british and has declared all of europe no good, dirty dirty, bum lickers so you have to wait until his presidency is up to come to america?
