Yeah... you said 2 months... I'm a little worried I'll have a hard time getting 2 weeks here... I'm sure they'll give it to me but they are going to groan a lot about it, I might find myself agreeing to slave like a dog or something to convince them to let me go... though really it's more a 'key person' type situation... they are worried while I'm gone something will break... but seriously... anything less than 2 weeks... the price and the time spent in planes and airports alone DEMANDS at least 2 weeks...

Jazz_acid: I'm just curious, how long ago did you schedule that interview? Had you received anything from the embassy saying you could schedule it? I'm plotting to call still but also expecting to fail... I think it takes them a few days to enter the cases into the system after they receive the physical file... going to call anyway, I mean what the heck, I'm paying for three calls anyway so I get two more retries before I regret calling too soon.

This is the part where you mention remote desktop, i'm sure you can go longer if you tell them you can fix any issues from overseas....

Gold Memember!!!

ok, i should be expecting my NOA2 shortly now!!!

Ah ha, that was the problem all this time, you weren't a gold member... that explains it all.

The UK is slow for scheduling the interview? :crying:

That's what I heard, check the regional forums... I might have gotten that based on one or two examples that were slow... but it stood out to me since that's one of those countries that I'm surprised we don't just let anyone with a valid passport come over and live if they want....

This is the part where you mention remote desktop, i'm sure you can go longer if you tell them you can fix any issues from overseas....

We have remote desktop setup... this is usually what breaks actually... and of course when it does... no way to fix it remotely... not that it's really that hard to tell someone how to push the power button but who knows... the weirdest issues pop up when you can't just reach over and smack the machine in charge of whatever...

Calling the embassy was more work than I thought... the number is an automated service, and pretty much opens up with tagalog.... if you wait it'll get around to saying some stuff in english... blah blah US Citizen services press 2 or press 3 to continue in english (do it fast or I guess it decides to continue in tagalog... 2 is for non-visa stuff, 3 is what english speaking americans would want...). Anyway, no dice, I'm not surprised, I'll try back on thursday (or sooner if possible). They said the last interview scheduled (or maybe just that this particular guy scheduled) was jan 16... so wow, manila interviews can be scheduled really soon (of course... I need time to buy plane tickets... maybe it's a slow week for the airlines and plane tickets bought with only 2 weeks notice will be cheap....).

Croatia is really fast with interview dates since pretty much nobody is scheduling them for visas other than B2 and which ever one the work visa is, but.... when you get stuck at NVC...

Without the NVC #######, I would have already been done with it, more than likely.
