I have no confusion about how to pay for the PIN, that part I understand, what I don't get is what will actually count as using the call?

You say you have two calls left, was the first one where you called and got the answering service stating that they were on holiday? I don't particularly like the idea of paying $6 to find out they are out to lunch or their operators are too busy to answer my call or something... I'm not sure I even want to pay $6 to talk to a human, unless they actually can set the appointment date (but I accept that if I talk to any person person period, I've knocked off one of the 3 calls purchased with the $18).

No if you call and do not enter the service and are not speaking to an actual operator then you will not be charged. I ahve called at least 15 times with my PIN already and my PIN is still valid. I thought the same thing as well. I thought it must be a scam to get money. But I am sure you are not charged until you are talking to an actual person.

I'm running out of things/activities to distract myself. I've already changed cities, got a new job, checked USCIS, explored a new city, applied for grad school, checked USCIS, made some new friends, got second job, checked USCIS, went to visit old friends, ran a 5k, went to the zoo, checked USCIS, took up crotcheting, got a cat, went hiking, checked USCIS, read 15 million books, bought a wedding dress, found a wedding venue, checked USCIS, booked a ceremony venue, decorated my apartment, went Christmas shopping, spent time with family, sent mail to Nicaragua, checked USCIS, and took a walk.

Congrats on the 5k... sounds like you been busy today, what you going to do tomorrow... :P

Congrats MARM, you are just days away from your NOA2 now I'm sure.

And congrats Gemmie, I had checked igor's hoping for the customary huge friday update and well... 1 approval at each service center... that's like a huge update this week (it's still early, maybe a few more will show up!).

Hopefully next week both service centers will put some effort into cranking out some NOA2's, cause it's kind of weird posting in the august thread about the post NOA2 stuff when so many are still waiting on that fist huge step.

I have never been so happy that the holidays are finally over.

I know how you feel, this year it delayed so many things for me, obviously the main thing being the NOA2. I couldn't wait for Christmas and New year to get out of the way so people at the USCIS could resume regular work shifts

but in a year when I'm (hopefully) living and working there, I'll be saying the opposite. Ironic

Congratulations to all those who received NOA2s this week, those that made it out of NVC, and best wishes to those still waiting on both accounts.......

Quick question.....when sending documents for my fiance to take to the interview, should he have the NOA1 & NOA2? Are these necessary? and if so, copies or originals? Thanks.

Send a copy of the NOA2, I don't know that it's needed but it doesn't hurt, I think I've seen a few cases where someone showed a NOA2 instead of some other doc and it helped (the other doc being something from NVC). The NOA1 is not needed at all, I'd keep it for your records but no need to send it. For the NOA2 send a copy, you need the original for AOS. Send originals of the affidavit of support, and originals of any evidence you need to send for the interview... copies for everything else usually.

VSC has jumped up to 9 approvals, that's a big improvement from earlier, not many august approvals though... definitely pulling for a much better week next week.

This is definitely a strange year... I'm not so much against the american holidays this year (only cause I got lucky) but those filipino holidays combined with american holidays are kind of brutal for me...

Hi folks,

just one concern pls,,, is there any way i can check (asside from calling on the phone) if our case has already received by the embassy? NVC sent us letters (mail and email_dec. 17) saying that our case will be forwarded to the embassy. i'm about to call the embassy on monday for interview appointment but just found out today that alot of earlier filers' cases are stucked up at the NVC for the Administrative Process (more back ground checkings) eventhough NVC sent them notfication letter saying that their case has been forwarded to their designated consulate.

thank u,

jazz

As much as I have learned, so far at least, NVC is nothing but a giant pithole that makes no sense at all.

We got our NOA2 on Dec 12th. NVC has had our case since Dec 18th, or something like that. We've gotten one letter, saying they'll be forwarding our case to Croatia in just a week. It's been about two weeks since, mind you.

My fiance then sent an email inquiry and got a reply saying the case was AP'd.

Meanwhile, I've talked to two different NVC agents on the phone. First one said (a few days ago) that the case was still there, under some whatever standard procedure and a bit delayed because of the holidays. All was good and there were no problems at all, she said. Yesterday I talked to a guy who said it was AP and that the said thing, of course, has no timeline.

Now we'll see what happens. If I call again, I'm sure they'll tell us it's been stolen by a little green potato.

A green potato... nice... unfortunately I'm going to guess that they'll be consistant about stating AP from here on, hopefully it's short but AP is a black hole in terms of what goes on there and having any idea of how long it will take. I highly recommend stabbing any green potatoes you see to death just to be safe, at least until you get out of AP.

Our NOA2 came a lot earlier than expected so.. why not waste a few months now, right?

I mean, okay, honestly, it's not too bad. For now. I need to graduate, so we're not in that kind of hurry. We've been planning to have the interview pushed somewhere to the middle of March. But I have to admit I would have liked to skip the damn NVC hole, heh. =/
