HI PEOPLE FIRST OF ALL HAPPY NEW YEAR, HOPE ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE!

IT SURE IS GOING TO BE DIFFERENT FOR MOST OF US, IMAGINE GODS WILLING WE´LL BE M-A-R-R-I-E-D!

Yesterday I got my letter from the DOS NVC, with a INS receipt number. Wonderful end of year!. The letter says that within a week they´ll send the package to the embassy in Chile.

SO HERE´S WHAT I AM DOING AND YOU SHOULD DO TOO:

As posted by someone before, they ship the packages via DHL.

Go to DHL.com, go to tracking, then enter in the enter by reference section this: EXP 31 DEC 2008A. AND YOU WILL SEE THE PACKAGES THE NVC SENT DURING THAT PERIOD to the different countries. So then whenever you get your letter from NVC enter with that date. For example if you receive your letter on Jan 12th enter: EXP 12 JAN 2009A.

Mine is not sent to Chile yet, I´ll be checking tomorrow like crazy!!!

Good Luck!

WOOHOOO QUEEN AGAIN AND QUEEN OF THE NEW YEAR YES!! , SO I DEMAND APPROVALS FOR THE REST OF MY FELLOW DESPERATE VJERS.

Congrats on your file reaching there safely. :)

Still nothing for us but I'm leaving the US in a few days so it would've been nice to have that as something to look towards.. our timeline has gone back a month since we started this, hopefully it won't be taking long for our approval. People keep asking me about the visa and it's frustrating trying to get them to understand that I'm still waiting and don't know anything about my file almost 5 months on..

Happy New Year, everyone! This is our year!

Hi Everybody.......

Just wanted to add some info for the NVC process........

I have received 3 letters with three different dates stating that they received my file and it would be sent to the embassy in one week......these were the 18, 19, and 23......so, anyway....I've called a few times and have been told as well...that it is in review and it is normal procedure.......

So.....I was concerned because according to others' timelines, the cases were flying in and out of there within a few days.....but then I stumbled across a thread on here called "Stuck @ NVC".......I don't know how to put the link in here......after reading that, and now others on our August thread.....there just seems to be some kind of backlog or new procedure that many of us are going through right now.....

So....what I have decided to do is check DHL tracking once a day.....you can usually check by 3:30pm eastern time for current day's info....put in the current day like everyone else has said......EXP 01 JAN 2009A.......gotta put the A, don't know why.....and then look to see what packages have gone out.......if I see one with my embassy, then I will call and ask if my case left.....other than that.....no need to call.....same info/different operator.....however, they are nice and the good thing is....they work until Midnight.....so call after 6pm eastern time to get through easier...

So....hope this calms everyone's nerves.....no need to be stressed on the first day of this New Year.......the good news is....we will all be married within 2009 and with our loved ones forever!!!!! and besides......we gotta have something to talk about to keep this August thread going!!!!!

Hi Friends...

VERY quick note to say I made it to UK safely and before I enjoy the next two weeks thouroughly..had to share my immigration experience with you.

I was under the stupid assumption that if you were traveling THAT way and not the direction the SO is moving to it was not an issue to them...WRONG.

I made the very innocent comment 'seeing friends and family' and that led to what family, where are we getting married, who is moving where, when were the papers filed, who do i work for and what do i do...etc....i was sure i could be heading back to california for ####'s sake...

once i gave her the processing dates and she was happy i was going to try to stay here...she smiled and let me go.

SO, if you come this way..just don't be surprised!

ciao....gwenna

Stinkerpotsam: The way it works is rich countries, get nervous about poor people from poor countries getting in as tourists and then marrying and staying... as you may have heard... the US is having a bit of economic trouble....

Either that or basically all the countries of the world are afraid of getting cooties and get nervous when women try to enter their borders to see their fiance's... can't say I blame them really...

ETA: I had to rescue the august thread from page 2!... what the heck is that about... we never go to page 2!

I want to say thank you for everyone posting such detailed information about their process after their NOA2. Gemmie I understand what you mean about wanting something to look forward to. We both got our NOA1 around the same time so hopefully one of us will hear something soon. To everyone else please keep informing us about your experiences through the process, it helps alot. I am very happy for everyone who is getting closer to being with their loved one. :star:

Still waiting on the RFE letter of course...if I am lucky I will get it today, if not...next week for sure.

I hope that CSC and VSC get back on track beginning today....enough with the holidays and the measly amount of approvals!

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

Question, since I seem to be very confused about this, now.

On this website, which numbers are you using to track your pacakge?

On our NVC letter (one of), they mention a ZGB[somedigits] number. Is that it?

I mean, is the ZGB******** the tracking number I am looking for, or is there some other magic one uses to find their case?
