Yeah... nothing good can come of that... I'll probably be home alone.... that's the opposite of what I have planned for 2009 (stayin home is OK... but I plan to have company from early 2009 on)! Any good new years resolutions here? My official one is to spend way more time with my fiancee... I was considering resolving to win the lottery but I didn't want to pick too hard of a resolution this year :P

While you are within the processing times determined by USCIS they can't do anything really, and most of them know that and will likely say so and to call them back when you are outside the processing times, some won't even go that far. If you are outside of the processing times, sometimes they can get you a little extra information and tell you that you are in a security check or something, but again, generally, they can't do much about it really. What they can do is influence laws, but let me say good luck on that, it'd be a pretty rare day where someone would get a law passed that actually directly helps their own situation. I'm all for people trying to get the system improved, but as for expecting anyone to do anything to help your own specific petition at this point... it's too early to even try, but I guess if it helps you pass the time, everyone needs a hobby. Trying to change the system so that it's better for those who come after us, is worth a shot but legal immigration is not exactly a hot topic for most people... illegal immigration people get their panties in a twist about but even then, a large part of the country doesn't care so much about that either.

Vermont doesn't care about CSC processing sept filers, they are seperate facilities with their own processing times, but VSC has approved plenty of sept filers too. Seems like VSC likes sept and july filers more than august at this point (I don't blame them for liking july... but I'd much rather them approve some august filers instead of jumping right past to sept which seems to be the case).

I did get the NOA2 hard copy today, ordered transcripts, and setup a chiropracter appointment (pinched nerve or something... but I've been paying for health insurance, I need to quit bein a wimp and just go to the doctor and figure out what the deal is).

My stepmother has a friend in our senator's office, and she contacted them about our application in the beginning of December. He looked into it and came back saying that it's in the security checking phase, and it was with the adjuncter or whatever they are called, and that this part of the process can't be sped up (just as maliciant said). He even gave us her name and phone number, so it was nice to know it's with a "real person". I was surprised he gave us her number, I think a lot of people would start harrassing her. I didn't call though, because I'm sure she wouldn't appreciate it. Anyway, they said I should hear back mid-December to early January, but no dice so far. Hopefully they can follow up again....

Nothing big something simply enough for a party of about 50 not more than 100 for sure. The wedding date is tentative and we sure hope we get approved by April...think that's likely?

I was nervous to call, but told my fiancee last night I'd give NVC a shot today, it was 1 week since the NOA2 date and I didn't really expect to get a case number... but I did, and they also told me the petition is going to be shipped out today. I think all I need is the case number to schedule an interview date (WOOOOO!) but the down side is I think the embassy is closed there until next week or something... it's only new years eve here in the US... but it's already new years there so I'm pretty sure today is out for setting up the interview...

We are planning ours for Sept 09. At first I thought that was PLENTY of time. Now, I'm starting to get nervous. I'm sure it's a premature nervous though. I will officially be nervous if Feb arrives with no word of an NOA2. That will be 6 months and my official 'freak out' time line.

Malicant, I'm glad you got some answers. How long does it typically take to schedule an interview in the phillipines?
