So...because my email said they mailed a notice on the 24th I should put that date in the timeline..yes? Guess that makes sense. How come you don't get the email right away I wonder? I got it just before 8AM today.

So you got an email after 8 AM today on the 25th, about your approval on the 24th?

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas :).

I'm just completing my I-134 now and have a quick question (especially for those of you marrying Brits). The newest edition of the form says that it no longer needs to be notarized, although London's embassy hasn't updated its website and still mentions the support forms be notarized. Do you think it's fine to use the newest edition and skip the notary? Also, is there anything else that typically needs to be notarized throughout the process? I'm giving my fiance a hard copy of the NOA1 and NOA2 as well as mine and my cosponsor's birth certificate, so those are all accounted for. I've read the guides, as well as the embassy's info a million times, but want to quadruple check since I'm officially giving him all of this when I fly to London on Saturday (Eek! SO excited!).

Thanks in advance!

I would not skip the notary because I wouldn't want to risk having to resend the I-134 and delay the visa just for pending documents...its better to be over-prepared. For London, the letters of intent to marry do not need to be notarized either, so besides the I-134 that you should get notarized just to be on the safe side, nothing else needs notarization. The NOA1 and NOA2 are not required, but it doesn't hurt for your fiance to have these easily accessible when going to the interview. Yes, you should include yours and your co-sponsor's birth certificate as proof of US citizenship for I-134. Besides this, you need to compile evidence of bona-fide relationship, don't forget the letters of intent to marry, one from you for your fiance, and one from your fiance for you, no need to get them notarized, and they can be as simple as the example one here is in the guides, just remember to put the date of the interview on them and have them addressed to the Embassy of the United States in London. Also, as far as stuff from you for your fiance, it is a good idea to take copies of what you filed for I-129F, this is not needed, but just to be on the safe side, I am doing this. And the rest is for your fiance to prepare: police certificates, original certified divorce decrees if any, birth certificate, DS forms, medical interview, etc. I am also planning on going with my fiance to the interview in London, when the time comes...

I am very excited for you! Keep us updated :dance::star:

Thanks for your quick response! We've got all the other stuff you mentioned gathered, I am just thrown by this new I-134 since us July/August filers are likely the first people to use it. I'm jealous that you'll be going to your fiance's interview! I'm joining Sebastian for his medical on January 8th but he's on his own for the rest :(. Good luck with your approval! I keep looking at this thread and my heart breaks for you every time I see ANOTHER touch. Hang in there!

I just took a detailed look at the new I-134 and compared it to the old I-134...it seems that they just changed the top where it says "being duly sworn depose and say" to "certify under penalty of perjury under US law, that" so that it is much more affirmative and has a stronger connotation so that the notarization is not needed. But just to be on the safe side, I would get the I-134 notarized as this is something that has just been revised and you may be surprised but some CO's may not be familiar with the guidelines on the new one so it is best to have it notarized so as not to give them a reason to tell you to resend one. I am waiting for the NOA2, then the medical and so forth so we can get an interview date and then I can't wait to be there with my fiance...its just these touches that are driving me mad! But like I said before, I have a feeling that the touch today and yesterday means approval on Monday, let's see...Thanks for your support and keep us updated on the medical and so forth! I'll be looking for your posts in the UK regional forum as well :star::thumbs:
