Ah, im soon going to go crazy..

It feels like I am waiting for ages for my NOA1, my timeline says it all :'(

I can't think of anything else, as most of you already know my fiance called the USCIS last Tuesday and got the respond that they would send a new one to us and if we did not have it within the next thursday that is now coming up we should recall them and God know what will happend next..

I am so tired of waiting and already starting to lose all hope all I want to know is getting confirmed that it is in their hands so I can relax again :(

Sorry I just felt like sharing this with someone..

7/31/2008 - Sended I-129F to VSC (lost in mail).

9/24/2008 - Resended I-129F to VSC (*sigh* lost again).

10/30/2008 - Resended again I-129F to VSC.

11/11/2008 - NOA1

03/09/2009 - RFE received

03/11/2009 - Returned RFE

05/23/2009 - Recieved 2nd RFE

08/05/2009 - Denied. Besides that he turns out to be a total jerk. Case ended.

If your check has been cashed by USCIS then thats a good sign, a NOA1 is basically a notification to inform you that they opened your packet and stored away, that's it, it does not mean that an immigration officer is already working on it. As long as they cashed your check you should be ok. Do you have a case number?

Just hang in there, Vermont is slow in NOA1's but NOA2 they are pretty good at.

Hang in there, don't stress, keep busy, before you know it a NOA1 will be showing up in your mailbox.

Goodluck!

To echo the advice in the above post, not having a hard copy of the NOA 1 is not the worst thing--they can resend it. Your petition is sitting in a box somewhere anyway, so if they cashed your check you should be fine. I wound up having to have my NOA 1 resent because it was returned to sender (I didn't know the postal service won't forward USCIS mail) and it's fine--I have the new one in hand, and apparently this won't cause a problem at all.

I made it through POE and am in the US.

Shanira / Louise?

I'm sorry to hear that your NOA1 still hasn't shown up... like the others said, at least you know your case is in storage. There are stories about people that never recieve a hard copy of the NOA1 but get approved just fine. I'm sure if you're able to sign in to the USCIS site, you'll see that your case is pending. Otherwise the check wouldn't have been cashed. I'm curious about why you can't get your case number though. Have you asked the bank about the number of the back of the cashed check?

Keep us posted and vent your frustration to us!

Thanks all for thinking of us, it can be really touph sometimes :(

Gemmie - I have no idea, unfortantly its my fiance who called the bank and not me, and all he said was that there was no number on it, but it has been cashed :s Its very weird, but im sure its a misunderstanding or something like that.. Atleast I hope!

If its not here by thursday he will call the USCIS and hopefully find out what is going to happend, all I want to know is the casenumber or something.

I took:

- Return ticket

- Apartment contract

- Utility bills

- Student status / evidence

POE was actually extremely difficult for me this time, I'm not going to sugarcoat it. Usually I don't have any problems at all.

The officer asked why I was visiting and I said visiting my fiancee before school starts for the year again.. he asked if he was American and of course I said yes. He looked through my passport and instantly stopped what he was doing when he saw the amount of stamps arriving in Boston. He didn't even continue checking my fingerprints. He asked when we were getting married, where... how long I was here for in June, how come I'm missing a week of school to be here, if I have the right to work in the US, if my fiancee has the right to work in the UK, how we met, what he does for a living.. he asked to see my return ticket so I gave him that plus evidence of student status stating I was going back in October. He asked more security questions about what I had with me. Then he hesitated for a while and sighed but I answered all of his questions honestly and confidently even though I was an emotional wreck inside...

He stamped my passport but wrote a giant "A" on my visa waiver form... someone else asked me similar questions in the luggage room and then my case and bag were scanned. I was free to go, and I just fell into my fiancee's arms in the arrival room and cried!!

To be honest I think it was because I had around 6 stamps entering Boston for the past year and a half... one of them being 2 months ago. Bring lots of evidence and answer honestly... personally I think it's worth the risk of being denied entry. It's my worst nightmare... but I got through it and now I can't believe my luck that I'm here with my fiancee for a few weeks!!
