So he finally gets back to his desk about an hour later and looks up the cheque at his bank.

Only to discover they only up date the electronic cheques at his bank at the "end" of the month (september 22nd for this one)

GRRRR!

So now he has to ring them, cept of course the bank wont be open yet lol

Oh well now i have to try and sleep on this excitment of actually being able to discover if we have really started the process and wait to look in the morning (if he emails me the number....)

Oh so true! I don't know how my finace does it but he seems perfectly fine with it. Maybe it's all because I am more vocal with how I feel... Whew!

And your fiancee of course. God knows I have my share of rants at my own when there's nothing that can be done about the wait or the unknown. He handles it a lot better than I do. He's perfectly happy to brush it aside now that it's filed until he receives the NOA2. Me? The foreigner? I'M checking the site every day even though I know it will be the same.

Can I join this thread, I also sent my I-130 to Vermont in August, received NOA 09/02 and now waiting. I'm filing for CR1 visa though.

Gemmie - My fiance asked the bank some weeks ago but they couldn't see any case number for some reason (maybe the lady or man didnt knew where to look?) even though it was cashed.

But the bank called the USCIS to be sure that it was them and they confirmed it..

hey guys hows everything going? just got the receipt number from the bank off of te back of the ceque!!

Still waiting for NOA hard copy, but at least i can now sign into uscis! well looks as though last time own pettition was toushed was aug 26th!

Hello and best wishes to you both, Im new here also and love this site, it has a lot of very good infomation. The thing that helps me most is i get to talk to my fiancee every night or almost every night, every now and then I have to work later or go out of town, but even then we can text each other. Good luck to you, and it helps to know and talk to others that are in the same boat.

So Chris rang USCIS today to see if he could get our receipt number from our cheque for the K1, since his bank cannot get hold of it till the 22nd of September...

Turns out they wont tell you anything unless you can quote the receipt number or your case number......

Anyhow we must have lucked out and got one of the nicest operators there lol, he let Chris know that he should have already recieved our notice as it has been mailed and if its not their in 14days to call back so they will resent it.

Woot, somewhere along the line we did actually get our NOA1!!!

I have a question? when you enter the receipt number.. is the box where it says'last updated' the touches?

Also it says they have sent out a letter to confirm ( i guess NOA1) but its been about 2 weks now and we have no hard copy! should i worry ?

Dont worry about it yet it may just be caught up in the post, what matters is that you have your receipt number (we still dont have ours yet we have till wait till the NOA1 hardcopy or the bank to scan on the 22nd).

However if you dont recieve the NOA within 30 days of your cheque being cashed call them back and request another to be sent out.

The guy who Chris spoke to today told us that if we hadn't recieved ours in 2 weeks time to call back and they would simply resend a copy.

As for the touches, it will tell you when the last date it was reviewed was, if it is different from the last time you checked in then your case was "touched".

No, no worries, I do not have one since August 13th. My lawyer has a copy but the most important thing is that you have a receipt number. Now for the long wait.
