I've been looking for months and it seems they go more on when it was sent versus when NOA1 was issued so it appears they're working on the end of July through the fist week of August dates the packet was SENT.

Take a peek at the list; makes sense. I also beleive the randomness is because you have so many workers with so many piles and one may get through their pile then grab another (just another theory) so while they're awaiting police records on the sponsors, once that comes in and the other new laws are complied with then they work on doing the rest (yes, they check police records to make sure there are no wife beaters, drug dealers or molesters...the rest of the offenses they disclose to the fiancee at the interview).

So anyway, those are my theories...by how the time line goes, I'm 8/03/2008 so next week is where I think I'd be unless there was a delay on my security/criminal checks to put me back at the bottom of the small stack.

When we talk, we just say "It's going to be a year from when we filed" so for me, no pressure...just logging on every week to check (as if my looking constantly can have any control any more than a horoscope can). I started sleeping once I dropped my magical thinking and just resign to the fact it will be a year to have a visa in my paws....anything sooner is a gift!

I don't care when what comes regarding the steps along the way; I want the VISA!

Problem is I have to plan my trip (buy tickets when NOA2 comes to estimate when to go and stay there for a month, get married over there, then bring her back)...can't really stay 2 months.

I read earlier posts about people saying they never were LOOKING for an overseas spouse. I was. My reasons are obvious (likely to those here); other than that, people can think what they want...mail order, I bought her, whatever...their thoughts have nothing to do with my life (that's why they are THEIR thoughts-no power over me or our happiness)!

So, August of next year, I'm expecting to get my visa!

Your mind is probably taking a mystical turn, dear Pisces. This is, therefore, a great day to study spiritual or metaphysical concepts or to expand your knowledge of such fields as astrology, numerology, or other divinations. Books and lectures may be brought to your attention, and discussions with friends who share your interests should set your mind going a thousand miles an hour. Don't let today pass you by. Expand your mind

:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

Which adds to my theory they go by when the application was SENT versus when NOA1 came in.

Look down the line of the sent dates with the approval dates and it seems there's more conistency (through all the months; this month is a bit more uniform but when there were NOA1 delays, it appeared to be more clear.

So for those waiting, try looking when your packet was DATED to expect the NOA2. Actially, I see 2nd week of July just tipping into the first few days of August. I'd say I have another week or 2 (I see end of month applicants going nuts...i think a few will have 3-4 weeks based on when their apps were sent (just my opinion reviewing the past 9 months of approvals trying to make sense out of it).

I wish horoscopes worked...in my view it's magical thinking I cannot afford (just my thinking, though). If you go back to how they were created, they're designed around movement of the solar system (how they thought it moved at the time) which later they learned everything revolves around the sun and the moon around the earth. Remember, someone is sitting in their basement confabulating this stuff to publish (no different than you and me) for everyone to lap up hungrily. (I know, it's done for amusement...but doesn't really have anything to do with reality or a visa or educated thinking IMHO)

Yikes!!! I hope you plan to just have a ceremony and not a legal marriage, if you have a legal marriage the k-1 visa is no longer valid, your legal marriage must be in america or you risk a pile of problems! I'm hoping you realize this already but it's not clear in your post.

The order the petitions are received is to some degree what they go by, more so than the NOA1 date, which should be approximately in the same order as the received dates, there is flunctation in when sent dates are actually received, I think it took most of a week to get my petition from MO to CA, many people can get their mail to CA in a single day...

Today certainly feels slow and I'm working late which of course makes it feel even slower, but most of the time the updates happen at night after people get home from work... or also even late at night, as I think much of the time the USC is not the one maintaining a VJ account/timeline, in those cases they might find out in an email that they receive 8 hours after the USC sent it due to timezone differences... VSC kicked off the week with a fury... but well, they may end up doing nothing else the rest of the week (I think it's unlikely though). Really I think what makes it slow is you can only stay excited for so long, you are constantly excited that any moment your NOA2 can show up... but then it doesn't... sooner or later that excitement is going to wear off and you'll probably swing way past normal because you continue to be depressed by not receiving it... it's a mood swinging pain in the ###... but what the heck, we're almost there, I'm still excited about it, but I am pretty sure a few more days I'll be at the other end down right depressed about it. USCIS has turned me into a moody SOB!

Oops, I was slow posting and it was already answered...

That's OK...did my homework before opening this visa can of worms! Most weddings over there are never papered anyway (why give their government any money in the first place; all their corrupt government does is squander and steal it-overthrown government something like 19 times since ww2, each time robbing the treasury).

We both look forward to getting her out of that HE(( hole!
