On a positive note...I was sending out a few emails to close friends and family tonight asking them to write a letter for us to put in the "Interview Portfolio" as I refer to it and I got to thinking about what an AWESOME scrapbook we will all have, that other "normal" couples don't have when this is over.

How many others have the letters, the emails, the piks, the letters from friends and family, etc?????

I'm actually going to start printing off the emails I have saved (about 800 from him and about 1000 to him) on three hole paper and put them in a binder. It reads like a diary of our lives the past couple of years. (L)

I like your idea of a diary of your lives for the past couple of years, I have also included letters, emails, pics (a whole album), and letters from family friends as well as congrats cards from them, and emails and snail mail to each other...I am trying to keep everything organized, besides the picture album, I bought this: Expandable Folder which is ideal for organizing everything now and also for taking to the interview.

The three hole paper idea for the emails is great, but I have to tell you that those papers easily come out of the binders, rip away, etc. so its better to just put them all in a folder and separate your 1000 to him and his 800 to you by a post-it tab or something like that.

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

I posted this in the September thread for anyone who isnt scanning ahead and behind, but I thought SOMEONE here might find this interesting - especially if you have been "touched" lately.

I actually got a call from CSC today! The guy was an a :devil: hole, but was polite about it anyway. Basically told me he was going to deny my expedite request unless I could get a doctor to say the situation is very severe - I told him that is the point :bonk: - the doctor doesn't know, so I want her here to get medical treatment. So he asked for the doctor to send an update, but I told him she is leaving for Japan today, and he said "well, if she is well enough to fly, then I cant see why we need to expedite this". I told him it is not about her, it is about our baby. Flying doesnt change the fact the mass on the baby's fetal stem could be cancer, or anything else. Anyway, he gave me a week to send more information (before he denies my request).

He also told me he just received my fax today - I have sent him 3 or 4 faxes since the 18th. I also sent one to the director as I mentioned, which didnt seem to help, but it is funny that only a few days later this guy finally called me. Maybe it did help.

OK OK, SO THE INTERESTING PART FOR YOU! I checked the USCIS web-site for my case status. It shows I was "touched" on 12/4/08. Which is when he called. SO ANYONE SEEING A TOUCH WITHOUT AN EXPEDITE REQUEST MAYBE SHOULD BE MORE EXCITED! They do actually look at a file before they do something. I dont know what they do, maybe just use the file to level the desk, but he actually pulled my file to level the desk with. :) Apparently it was a good fit for him, because he will most likely deny my request (so his desk stays level?) GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL & HURRY THEM UP!!!! I am REALLY STARTING TO GO CRAZY WITH THIS WAIT.

I'm sorry about the way they are treating your expedite request. Yes I was excited to receive two touches this week, but haven't received any email/phone calls or anything as exciting...maybe my file is being used to level the desk  as well. No I did not request an expedite, but I am hoping, hoping, hoping, REALLY HOPING that the CSC is going to give us all the best Christmas ever by handing out approvals left and right next week and onwards. I mean what the heck?? Last year at this time, they handed out 32 approvals in the first week of Dec. and 51 the 2nd week of December, so what is going on now????

Last year at this time they also apparently had a massive overload of petitions due to the price change... it doesn't seem like that should really change the speed at which a petition is approved since they always have a backlog to work through but well, that's what you usually hear when someone mentions the number of approves last year...

Being well enough to fly being grounds to deny an expedite... uh... just what does he think will happen if it's granted... somewhere in the near future is a plane ride (or I guess people could take a boat but that sounds like a much more difficult way to get here). Good luck with the expedite, I'd try to find whatever else you can send, x-rays or even a second doctors opinion (or can you get a referal to a specialist or something like that?).

I Actually did send them the letter from the Doctors office that stated the irregular mass on the fetal stem and a copy of the Ultra-sound picture. He said he wasnt a doctor so since the letter doesnt say if the mass is a problem or not, he is probably going to deny it.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.

MARM, Main point was he touched my file to call me. I think they have pulled yours. Maybe reviewing. Maybe it does take more than a glance, but I would think you will received something soon. I am excited for you.
