Hi everybody!

I've never properly introduced myself here. My name is Becca. I've been living in Ankara, Turkey for about 5 years now. My husband and I met online 10 years ago. I was tutoring him in English and decided to move to TUrkey to learn Turkish. Things clicked and we've been married for almost 2 years.

We're doing DCF with the Ankara Embassy, which seems to use the "expedite" option (they asked us to send in EVERYTHING to the Embassy -- I-864, I-130, all personal records, etc). It has been an intimidating journey so far to say the least. We hope to get an answer tomorrow about our I-130 application and an interview date.

I don't think I've ever been so nervous about anything before in my life. What if we get rejected? What if we re-apply and get rejected again? What if we get the date but the interview goes poorly? I know these are questions with answers that everybody here must wait for -- and that's why I'm so happy to be here...

Hi Becca and welcome!

Relax! Don't worry--you are with your husband in Turkey and it won't be long with DCF in comparison to us non DCF filers (like me 1 year of waiting and separated from my husband!) You will be looking at a few months and my goodness you have been married for 2 years and living together in Turkey, so why would they question the authenticity of your union? Breathe, and just understand that this is all red tape at its finest! You don't have to worry about USCIS or NVC (which consummed 7 months of my year waiting). Are you in a rush to move to the U.S. right now? Otherwise, all you should be concerned with is waiting.
