nawal, does nour have allergies or GERD or something? i always see her skin is soo red and blotchy and now vomiting, poor child! What kind of formula is she on?

They think GERD but she has some breathing issues as well....too many specialists and they still don't know a thing...GRRR . She's on the regular Emfamil Iron ... because Soy makes her projectile vomit and the Neutromigen (sp?) she wouldn't eat and kept spitting it up....LOL. Her vomiting just started again after 1 month of being vomit free...

GERD can cause breathing problems. The stomach acid refluxs to the back of the through which then will sometimes aspirate into the trachea causing the cough. Have you or a doctor heard wheezing? Also, a lot of people, even doctors think a child has to be wheezing to have asthma. A cough....just a cough could be asthma too. Have you tried elevating the head of her bed a little? Sometimes that will help, if it's GERD. You may want to check into changing her formula too. Another thing, does she do this mainly when she's laying down? Sometimes drainage will cause the pukes and coughing too. Sorry....that was overload eh? Hope she's doing better soon!

Nawal...My cousins kid had Gerd REAL bad...she exorcist vomited til they got to the bottom of it...I know they had her on an antacid (Prevacid maybe?) bring it up to the doctor.. and They had her on Enfamil Gentleease...Its for fussiness and gas, but their daughter did alot better on it...Its just about the same price as the regular enfamil, maybe give it a go...id also take amys advice and get an incline thing for her bed...pretty sure they sell em at babies r us, it will just elevate her head a bit

I worked in day cares for years, and Ill never forget i had a set of Twins, a boy and a girl, Jack and Maggie..anyways...Maggie was sooo petite and undersized compared to her brother (whom we called big bubba) and maggie had GERD soooooooo bad...There wasnt a day that kid didnt puke..kinda reminds me of Zain and Nour...I hope she feels better...shes such a little princess..

They have her on Axid right now and it was going great for about 3..almost 4 weeks w/ the change back to regular formula. However, her breathing is so bad....laying flat on her back the worst so either on her side...belly time (during the day)...or in her swinger (which is elevated) her breathing is a little better but still she sounds like an old man that smoked 30 years (snoring too). We just visited a pulmonologist yesterday and they are scheduling her for a modified barium to see how thing are in her trachea/esophagus area as well...so many little things...They also suggested rice cereal as it might help keep the formula down and get her some much needed calories...So we are just starting today (fingers crossed) and praying the text next month gives us some answers...poor little munchkin. We are going to mention the Gentleease to him tomorrow and use the advice he gave of adding rice cereal w/ it...see if it works for her. Thanks for your sweet words...(i responded to Amy above about Nour's hectic past month...crazy times).

I have had a LONG night....babies up every 3 hours YUCK and lil Nour is vomiting again Blah....

Do they normally wake up at the same time to feed? I have these vision of twins and one waking up, you feed him, THEN the other one wakes up and you feed her and then he wakes up again and you just never get sleep.

OMG I'm exhausted just thinking about it!!!! I can't even imagine breastfeeding twins either but I guess some people do it.

They do wake up one after the other! LOL It is exhausting (imagine people w/ more babies?!?) but I have to thank god for my hubby. We have a good method down and try to give each other a break. He typically takes my daughter and I take my son...that way we don't have to alternate blocks of time....we tried that in the beginning...big mistake! LOL (you sleep 5 hours and i will take them, then vice versa) OMG HELL! Better with taking one baby and dealing with their sleep/eating pattern for that day.
