Three weeks ago I sent in my I-130 petition to the Chicago drop box. Unfortunately, yesterday, while cleaning my desk, I happened upon the check that I had forgotten to include with the petition. I was really upset! How could I have forgotten something so important!?

My question is, will Department of Homeland Security Immigration send me back the entire petition, or will they just send me a letter indicating to me that they are missing the check?

Your help would be appreciated.

Normally they will send back everything. Have someone "proof read" it before you send it back.

Why not mail a new petition with the fee enclosed. They will just return the entire previously sent petition. I am very surprised you didn't get it back yet.

There's no telling how long it will take to get it back but expect it back eventually. I'd send a new one ASAP if you can. That way (Murphy's Law) the original will arrive the next day.
