If your check was cashed and you have online banking, depending on your bank you can get online and check the numbers on the back of the check. You are looking for a number that says WAC (if you are at CSC) you can then use that number to sign into uscis.gov website to check the actual day of NOA 1. I think my packet was received on Aug. 4, NOA aug 5, and then I received the hard copy NOA on the 11th. So for you CSC people with checks cashed should get your hard copy any day now.

Thanks for that info! We tried looking online and there is no image of the check yet. So I guess we're going to have to wait for the NOA1. Are we able to find out by calling the USCIS?

I don't know about calling. I thought I read some where that you can't call till you have a case number, but I don't know.

confession: I am a big geek, I couldn't read the numbers on the back of my check, and I wanted to know them ASAP, so I could look online, so I called my bank to see if they could see them better, they could and that's how I got the number. So you could maybe try that.

Oh cool, when did you send yours? Did you receive your NOA 1? awesome!

Our Atty put it in the mail the 4th of August and they cashed the check the 7th. I should have my letter when I get home today. I'm about 2 hours away from my Atty.

After 20 minutes of being on the phone with my incompetent bank, they managed to find out that my money order was cashed yesterday but couldn't provide me with an image of it for me to find the WAC number. Grr...

Well, at least I know it was accepted and not rejected! :D

June 22nd, 2008: Got engaged in Sydney!

August 9th, 2008: Mailed I-129F Petition

August 11th, 2008: I-129F Petition received, signed by V SEMEGI

August 12th, 2008: NOA1 issued

August 13th, 2008: Touched

August 18th, 2008: NOA1 sent

August 20th, 2008: NOA1 hard copy received!

March 17th, 2009: Interview is at 8AM, fiancée, approved!!!

March 19th, 2009: Fiancée received visa in the mail along with yellow envelope for POE

March 28th, 2009: I'm flying to Sydney

April 5th, 2009: We're flying back together!

April 21st, 2009: Got legally married!

PLEASE EMAIL YOUR CONSULATE A FEW DAYS AFTER MAILING IN YOUR PACKET 3 DOCUMENTS JUST IN CASE THEY EMAIL YOU AN APPOINTMENT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AND YOU END UP NOT RECEIVING IT. THEY DO EMAILS NOW!!!!

for those of you with missing numbers or for those just curious here is a breakdown of your uscis case number....

Example - WAC 08 143 5 1234

WAC - California Service Center (formerly Western Adjudication Center)

or

EAC - Eastern Service Center (formerly Eastern Adjudication Center)

08 - The fiscal year of USCIS, from October 1 to September 30. (Cases filed from 10/01/2006 to 09/30/2007 will have xx = 07)

143 - The working day of the fiscal year when your case is received. 10/01 = 001

5 or 0 - Either 5 (in database) or 0 (paper files) ... K1's are put into database

1234 - A serial number assigned to your case based on the number of cases received, starting from 0001
