No one likes being in prison. There are long term prisoners who become institutionalized which is hardly the same thing.

My friend's son got held in prison during a case a few years ago - not pleasant from what I understand...

There was also a newspaper journalist who got done for a hit and run and described horrific scenes where the prison officers made everyone line up by race.

I'm still having a hard time finding sympathy for them. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Simple minds like mine would think "Oh wait, before you slice this throat open perhaps you should think about the consequences". But that's just me.

Obviously this is a topic you and I won't see eye to eye. No stress. I respectfully agree to disagree.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

Most people don't do crimes, but not because they are afraid of jail time which is where the if...then argument rather falls down.

Of course, disagree with me all you want, and feel free to discuss your disagreement or not as you see fit. That's how discussions work.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Putting 'emotional' in a statement doesn't magically prove your point. A well constructed argument requires a lot more than that but as trying to have a discussion with you is like having a discussion with a 16 year old, it's no more than I would expect.

i'm glad you realize that, since you used it first ;) but carry on, it must give you great pleasure to be so smug.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- A death row inmate scheduled for execution says he's too fat to be put to death, claiming executioners would have trouble finding his veins and that his weight could diminish the effectiveness of one of the lethal injection drugs.

Lawyers for Richard Cooey argue in a federal lawsuit that Cooey -- 5-feet-7 and 267 pounds -- had poor veins when he faced execution five years ago and the problem has been worsened by weight gain.

The lawsuit, filed Friday in federal court, also says prison officials have had difficulty drawing blood from Cooey for medical procedures.

Cooey, 41, is sentenced to die for raping and murdering two young women in 1986. His execution is scheduled for October 14.

That's not fat, that's just big boned. I'm sure they can make an extra strength dosis for him. He'll be aight.

Sorry, not happening.

I'll respond further if Charles decides to actually present an argument about the issue as apposed to further taunting which may all be in good fun, but gets old rather quickly.

here's the asinine statements made by you previously that show you have no argument to offer other than whatever you can say to present yourself as a paragon of moral superiority looking down your nose at the barbarians:

It's nice to see we have so many experts on putting people to death in a humane or depending on the blood lust level, not so humane fashion. Progress in action, excellent.

The choice is not between execution and letting them go free, but rather exectution and life imprisonment and for various reasons I would prefer to see the latter and the death penalty banned everywhere.

some open mind for argument, eh?

Luckily this isn't a debate that most people sweep under the carpet and some day the US will rid itself of this barbaric method of punishment.

Which just shows that you look at this question in very emotional terms as apposed to examining the nature and ethics of it.

Darwin? Yes, I am sure that is the most logical argument you can come up with to support your blood lust and I am quite sure that you have no idea what the flaws are either.

Putting 'emotional' in a statement doesn't magically prove your point. A well constructed argument requires a lot more than that but as trying to have a discussion with you is like having a discussion with a 16 year old, it's no more than I would expect.

i'm certainly not going to hold my breath waiting for you to have an open mind about the death penalty as it's readily apparent by the above statements that you have your mind made up about this topic and that you'll continue flaunting your imagined moral superiority from atop that high horse you've jumped on.

enjoy being emotional about it all, just the same. ;)
