Hi Folks,

We just received our NOA2. Wepa! I have a few simple questions that maybe someone can answer and they are as follows:

1) Is Packet 3 and 4 in English or in Spanish. Please note that we are going through the Bogata Embassy and my Fiance understands both Spanish and English.

2) When is it advisable to get the Medical Exam? How much time before the interview at the Embassy.

3) For the I134, how many copies do I need to have? When does she need this form (prior to the embassy)?

4) I know that it is a good idea to prepare the packets 3 and 4 before the embassy sends it out. Is this list still correct for Bogota:

Packet 3 contents:

DS-230-I Part I

DS-156 x2 (Full out online to generate barcode http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/...electronic.html - Add photo to each, do not sign)

DS-156K (Do not sign)

DS-157 (Male only)

IV-15 Checklist

Information on how to book your medical

Packet 4 contents:

Appointment Letter

Instructions for interview/medical

Medical Questionnaire

Payment slip for £65 for visa processing

Thanks for your help!

You seem to be referencing a United Kingdom website and cost of the visa in £ pounds sterling which doesn't apply to a fiance in Colombia. Each embassy has a write up on Visa journey if you look at the top of the page and find in the menu bar Embassy Info

This is Colombia and has a lot of specific information http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...&cty=Bogota

Also you can find alot of information on the actual embassy website. Google US Embassy Bogota

This looks helpful http://bogota.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/k1-k...ionseng-_2_.pdf

E-Man,

Since your fiancée speaks Spanish, you can tell her to start reading the K1 Colombia thread which has tons of info on how to deal with the embassy, medica, lab, etc. You can also start reading the Colombia Club thread in English in the Foreign Embassy forum to get an idea of the process.

But in short:

1. Packets 3 and 4 are sent to the beneficiary in Spanish. You can also downlowa packet 3 at the US Embassy in Bogota's web site.

2. Most people make an appointmet for the medical exam as soon as they know their interview date. They make the appointment usually 2-3 days before the interview. They also get their lab work done around the same time, no appointment needed.

3. Only 1 copy of the I-134 is needed with the supporting documentation. She will need to bring this in to the embassy the day of her interview.

4. Check out their web site to get a copy of packet 3 so your fiancée can have everything ready, including baptismal certificate, police certificate, etc.
