I have now been a permanent resident since 2005 and my parents are considering moving from the UK to the USA.

Is there a special procedure i can use (being a permanent resident) or do they have to run the paperwork on their own as UK citizens wanting to emigrate ?

Thanks

Alex

As an LPR you can petition for an immediate family memeber but the beneficiaries are subject to quota limits. The quota limits can add many years before a visa number is available. A USC is not subject to these quotas. It looks like you can naturalize sometime next year.... That would be the quickest.

??? How does an LPR file for parrents??? I-130 specifies who an LPR can file for:

Who May File Form I-130?

2. If you are a lawful permanent resident of United States, you may file this form for:

A. Your husband or wife;

B. Your unmarried child under age 21;

C. Your unmarried son or daughter age 21 or older.

Who May Not File This Form I-130?

8. A grandparent, grandchild, nephew, niece, uncle, aunt, cousin, or in-law.

There is no quota based immigrations for parants of an LPR.

Yes, you first MUST naturalize and become a US Citizen. Only US citizens can file an I-130 for their parents, and US citizens CANNOT file for In-Laws, so having your spouse file it wont work.

On what basis would they qualify to emmigrate on their own?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Work and Investment are the obvious alternates, but OP never mentioned quite how they have other options.
