Your fiancee and her mom will have to fill out the I-134. You see, your fiancee is still your sponsor, so you need an I-134 from her, but since she doesn't meet the requirements, she's getting a co-sponsor for herself, so her mom has to fill put a I-134 for her, on your behalf. So that's two I-134 to be filled, with proof and info for them separately.

Depends on what country you're from. They should send you that information when you receive Packet 3. But she can likely expect to include at least a letter from her employer and a letter from her bank.

I 134, Bank letter, letter from employer, and if self employed, tax returns (I believe now they only require 1 year back, but someone can check me on that).

You could email LondonConsular@state.gov , too.

My brother is co sponsoring me as I am in college and here is what we did:

for me:

-notarized I-134

-bank statements

-letter from employer

-tax transcripts for last 3 years

for my co sponsor:

-notarized I-134

-bank statements

-letter from bank stating balance and in good standing

-letter from employer

-tax transcripts for last 3 years

I think that your fiance has to do an I-134 as the sponsor, and her mom does a separate one as a co sponsor. Good luck.

drelewis,

It's not your I-134, even if you are the one filling it out. Your information and signature are not going to be on it.

Your fiancee may not need to prepare an I-134 and financial package if she's not going to be your sponsor. Several people applying for their K visa at the US consulate in the UK found that they only needed the sponsor's financial package, nothing needed from the fiance(e). Even so the anecdotal evidence is so limited on this that you might want to have financial packages from both your future mother-in-law and your fiancee, then you can hand over the one from your fiancee in case they ask for it.

hi, sorry, I was just reading the requirements posted for the I-134... do I need to have my tax transcripts notarized? I was just going to send in the transcripts I received from the IRS for the past 3 years but now I'm reading they should be notarized? Why is that if the I-134 has to be notarized too?

sarah and hicham,

Don't know why the instructions for financial evidence says that tax returns need to be notarized - the anecdotal evidence indicates that they do not.

drelewis, please be sensitive to the private nature of financial information, especially where your mother-in-law is concerned. It may not be appropriate for you to "help" by filling out her I-134. Since it's all about disclosing her income and assets, there's not much help you can provide, anyway. This information is for the U.S. government (not you) and sponsors may have the option to have this form and its supporting evidence delivered to the Embassy sealed from your eyes. For some people, money is more private than sex.
