Today we received our NOA 1 showing a receipt date of August 22, 2008, it also said to expect an interview in about 450 days (wow i didn't think it would take over a year, is this an approximate length of time or estimated length of time?)

The NOA 1 also says our N-400 was transferred to something called NBC and that it wouldnt effect our processing time. We also received our biometric appt notice verifying that our biometrics is scheduled for 9/12/08 @ 3 pm.

I am glad we are inching closer to the grand finale, I just wish I could get my husband to study for the civics questions, he seems to think he has all this time to study so he is slowly studying.

Anyone who has gone to the USCIS in B'ham for fingerprinting is it difficult to find, I just dont wasnt to get lost as it will be our first time driving by car there.

I did my fingerprinting in Bham, it may be a little hard to find. I can give you clearer directions if you tell me which interstate or highway you will be taking.

The date you have put (Sep 08) has not come yet, and if you are filing in September you should add your name to september 2008 list, because this list is for people who have filed in August 2008.

Hi,

I wanted to give hope to my fellow NC filers. I filed the end of July and I received my interview letter today. I am scheduled for November 12th in Durham (So much better than driving to Charlotte for me).

yeah good news, but Durham and Charlotte have different timelines though. As i understand, Durham is not as busy yet.

had my bio app. yesterday at Durham. nice office most people seem to have a hard time finding it though. It's right behind a pub!

It looked like the stuff isn't too experienced yet, the fingetprinting lady was torturing my little fingers for awhile till she could get some good prints. i was also surprised they only had 2 fingerprinting spots, and people just kept coming in. i was lucky to be the first one, so got out in 25 minutes.

By the way, is everyone aware of the new Civic test? If not you may want to check www.uscis.gov.

I would schedule an info pass or call up the USCIS and ask about that. Possibly the inteview letter got loss (not the first time it has happened). Typcially you recieve the interview letter before the yellow papers, and the yellow papers usually come a couple weeks before the interview. And that is what happen in our case.
