First attempted call for IIN number....

Unsuccessful. Blah! Maybe I called to early. I think I'm going to wait another hour and try calling again. She asked me a bunch of questions to verify who I was and all that jazz. Then when I asked her for the invoice number she pasued for a few seconds and said that that's not being made available until the bill gets sent out (yeah right).

Trying again later....and if no then again tomorrow night. Hope I get lucky soon.

Keep trying, you'll be successful. I paid my AOS processing fee on line last Friday (8/1) and the status was 'In Process'. I checked again this morning and the same status of in process. I checked now, the status shows 'Not Paid'. The amount hasn't cleared my account. I don't know what to make of this?

Keep trying until you get one who will give you the IIN. She may give you the IIN reluctantly and tell you not to pay online blah blah...

But, if you are getting an expedite, you may want to hold on to the fee payment for a few days.

Try to sound confident and don't hesitate when she ask you something... we got our number right away!!!! I really don't know why they want to make the entire process so slow.... They really have the chance to be more efficient... Try calling at 7:30am or at 11:30pm it's the best time to get through and so far we have found the nicest operators....

I waited until the AVR said the AOS had been generated and then I called. The lady that answered asked me a bunch of questions to verify I was the petitioner. When I asked her for the IIN, she told me that she could give it to me, but that the online system was not working and not to use it to pay online. I of course, paid online anyway.

I think paying the bill before it is generated can cause problems for their systems. If you recall, payments are sent to St. Louis, MO and the forms are generated from and sent back to Rochester, NH. Two seperate systems.

I would suggest waiting, if you want to be cautious. It only takes them a few days, and the AVR lags about a day behind of when the actual forms are generated. It may be a bigger delay if you have to try to sort out your payments with them before they complete your case. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips guys. And Leah you have a point. Leah....you also have a point. The congress aid contacted me today and said that the expedite request is being sent to NVC so hopefully we'll hear something back soon. I have every last piece of paperwork ready as soon as they say when. I'll definately let you guys know what happens.

No worries at all. Husband is in the army so expedite was filed under DOD millitary deployment criteria. Hoping to hear something from NVC soon.
