About chat logs, I think 50 is more than enough, but if your wife needs more, she can always print out from Brazil, can't she, rather than you Posting them?

Best of luck for the interview, she will sail through smoothly

000 do you have a sample affidavit you can share with us??

Nita

If I could get a little help from all the people that have gone through this it would be great. I am under the impression that everything that was sent to NVC does not need to be taken to the embassy unless an original was not submitted or there was a tax extension for 2007 taxes at the time of the I-864(doesnt apply to us because my taxes were done by Jan 31st ). The interview letter that I got from the NVC said that all the documents were reviewed and found to be complete for all forms that needed to be submitted and originals were received for all Birth/Marriage/Police certificates. We did send in a certified copy of her birth certificate but I guess they consider that an original. So my question is ........ will the following be all that she is required to take and how does our proof of a bon-a-fide marriage look.

Documents required to take to the interview-

Medical Exam

Interview letter

(please tell me if I am missing something, I thought I saw somewhere that they will want a passport picture of me)

Documents taken in case they are missing something

Form DS-230 Part I & II Completed

I-864EZ with 3 years tax transcripts and 2007 W2 and letter of employment

2 Passport style pictures of my wife in case they didnt like the ones sent to NVC

Certified copy of our Marriage Certificate

Certified Copy of her police reports

Certified Copy of her Birth Certificate

I-130 & G-325 A (never know, they might miss something)

Misc items they might request

Her college diploma

Her Work "wallet" (a detailed document about her job history)

Copy of my passport Bio Page

My original birth Certificate

Evidence of marriage

Wedding Photos

Photos from our honeymoon

Photos from my December trip (even one where we sit on Papai Noel )

Photos from my June Trip

Ticket stubs from my plane tickets

Copy of stamps from passport visa pages of my entries and exits to Belem Brazil

Phone bills starting from March of last year to June of this year

50 pages of chat logs Starting from April 27th of 2008, they can see that it is page 1, 10, 25, 53 of 267(archive one), 24 of 68 (most current one) etc etc ending on July 11th 2008

4 affidavits from my family and friends 1) Mother 2) Sister 3) Sisters husband 4) Friend

And as strange as this sounds....If they keep track of Tourist visa info, on her July 2007 denied application she had put on their she wanted come to vist me (her fiance) and visit/meet my family. I consider that evidence too.

Thanks for all your help everyone!

In the affidavits my family & friends stated their relationship to me, when they learned of my relationship with my wife, when they knew we were engaged, that they have spoken to my wife via video calls, that they were invited to our wedding but couldnt afford the trip , and other misc. information they wanted, like my mother had taken me to the airport for my flight to get married, that they are excited for her to be here, and that they can see a bon-a-fide relationship. All of the them started off with saying their name and their relationship to me. At the bottom of the letter they put their full name, date of birth, social security number, telephone number, and address. All were notarized.

I Jane Doe, social security number (social security) born on (D.O.B ) am writing this statement for my son John Doe social security number( S.S.# ) born on (D.O.B ) regarding the relationship with his wife Jane Doe.

( the information that they added as to the reasons and evidence for the statement that they have seen )

The statements I have made are in complete truth and with confidence I can say that the relationship between John Doe and Jane Doe is a relationship based on love and nothing more.

No I cant go, I just back from there at the end of June so not only do I not have the time off but I just dont have the money, as of right now Im having to pay all for everything while she is there, I had to give her 1,500.00 in 3 week span so that she would be ok. So needless to say that doesnt leave me a lot of money for my bills, my cellphone will be off until the middle of of this month because I dont have the 500 dollars to pay it right now. I wish I could be there with her though, the best I can do is to meet her in Miami the day she gets here and fly to DC the next day with her. :crying:

And yeah , all 4 were notarized. Now as far as relaxed, well, last night i got 3 hours of sleep as compared to sunday I only got 2 so thats progress right ll

Hi!! My husband and I (I'm the USC) just returned from our interview today, with an approval. While I know each consulate can have completely different methods (for example, Bulgaria has a document required by no other country - and no mention of this document is made anywhere, including in the official checklist the NVC sent, but that's another story....) the one thing that made our interview easy was the PHOTOS. I know a lot of folks have said they didn't even get to show their photos, but that's *all* they looked at in our case. The CO actually said to us: "I have seen your photos, so I know your whole story," and complimented me on the labels on each photo and didn't really ask any questions...

So it seems like you are in great shape in terms of documentation. The only thing I could add is to put together a selection of photos so the interviewer can quickly see that you are for real.

For my case, I pulled out 40 photos that spanned our time together, each one chosen to illustrate a specific trip, to include other people, or to illustrate an activity that we have in common. I labeled each with a small post-it on the front with date and place and put them in chronological order in simple plastic photo sleeves, like the kind you would put in a 3-ring binder. I actually did it because I knew our interview would be through a glass window and the whole stack of photos was too thick to pass through the slot!! Oh, but we also brought the giant stack of extras if they wanted to see more, including all the wedding photos (I included 8 in the displayed photos).

If you have photos of her with your family, emphasize those - the photos they specifically asked me to see were of my husband with my mother.

My husband and I were terrified of the interview and for weeks before were incessantly practicing interview questions. We realized today that we learned all kinds of additional obscure things about each other, so there is one good outcome of this process! Also he was worried about his English, so the repetition helped him to gather his thoughts and not volunteer too much information.

Check out the wiki, it has many more interview questions there and that's what we used as a guide: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...rview_Questions

So best of luck to your wife!

Congrats on your approval. I did the same things as far as the photo album is concerned. My story actually started off with me going to Germany with my maiden name and then at the end, married and with my husband's name. We had vacations in between. Birthdays and what not. I worked really hard with the album to try and depict how true our relationship is and how much we love each other. Again though, many congrats to your approval!!

000 - Here's wishing you more and more luck for the big day.
