Hi all. I submitted my I-130 and it was delivered on April 26th. That was 21 days ago and I still have not receive the NOA1. Looking at the timelines, most people get a response much sooner. I'm starting to consider how I go about contacting them to determine the status. I live in VA. and sent my packet to Vermont Service Center.

My other questions are:

1. Does anyone have an example of Letter of employment? Who did you address it to: ?

2. Does Thailand require a police background letter?

3. What doctors do you use for medical exam in Thailand?

4. Any of unique requirements in Thailand?

Thank you all. This sight is awsome. I appreiciate everyones help and hope I can return the favor in the future. On the timeline, my name is Brad and Prem.

hahuhobrad,

Yes, 21 days is getting a bit long. Don't know how you can make contact without the Receipt Notice, though, since that contains the info you need to identify your case. Has your check made it back to your bank? If so, see if the Receipt Number is on the back (EACxxx....)

1. Many companies have a standard letter they will use. If yours doesn't the information that the should contain is given in the I-129f instruction, refer back to your letter-writing training in high school English class.

2. Yes

3. This information will be in the visa application package sent out by the consulate in Bangkok. It may be on their web site also.

4. All consulates have their idiosyncrocies.

This is an update to my own post.

I called the National Customer Service Center and they told me I was not in the system. No surprise, I can check that myself. They told me to wait another week and then call back.

Then I went to the bank and checked to see if the Money Order I used had been cashed. NO!

Whats going on? Several other people have been processed in this same time frame. It seems like they lost my packet after they signed for it. Or, my NOA1 got lost in the mail. Do you show up in the system as soon as they receive the packet? 21 Days. My first Submission. I'm not telling my wife; she'll cry. This sucks!

hahuhobrad,

Correct, the NCSC gets its information from the same source that you do.

One shows up in the system when the case information is entered into the system. This sometimes can take several weeks. That's a different issue than the printing and mailing of the Receipt Notice.

The Money Order not being cashed after 3 weeks is not an encouraging sign. Don't know what more to say about that.

Agreed, it does suck. Don't know what more to say about that, either, except that let's just hope your package is slow not misplaced.
