My fiance got her EAD stamp on her I-94 at JFK when she arrived. We are starting to work on the AOS packet. THe guide here on visajourney for the EAD part is a little confusing...

She is currently allowed to work through the end of her K-1 visa because of the stamp (mid-October)

When that time is up and before her greencard comes, which process do we do to allow her to legally work?

Along with your AOS form which you need to fill out you need to send an I-765 which is the form used to get another work permit. Once her current EAD expires she is not allowed to work until she receives her new EAD work permit.

NOT end of K-1, Temp EAD is good until the I-94 card expiration date.

GREEN-CARD IS work-authorization, nothing else is needed other than SSN. If and when you do get green-card, you can then visit SSA and order a SSN card with out the "With DHS Auth" notation on it.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

EAD stamp has an expiration date which should jive with the expiration of the I-94. (according to inforamtion supplied by other VJ'ers)

After expiration of stamp no work authorization exists until approval of I-765 or issuance of I-551 or I-551 stamp (K1 visa process).

Good luck and try to be patient. It is a very frustrating wait. Going through same thing right now.

Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensedregistered pharmacist". (because somebody gives a damn)

If we send out the aos packet today my fiance has to stop working when the EAD stamp/I-94 expires in Oct.?

Even with the AOS pending and the I-765 with it she is unable to work until the greendcard?

While AOS is pending she can work with her EAD. What others were saying is that if the EAD is not approved by the date on your I-94 - she will not be employment authorized until approval of the EAD application.

She won't be able to work until the EAD card or the green card is in her hand, which ever happens first.
