Hello friends, I need some life advice.

First and foremost, my ultimate goals in life:

-Attend college to receive technical training/degree/certificate so I can provide myself the foundation for a well-paying career.

-Submit I-129F, obtain K-1 Visa so I can marry and live with my fiancee and pop out some babies!

Second, my current plans to achieve these goals:

-Attend college full-time whilst waiting for K-1 visa approval

-Once K-1 approval is received and after we are married, cut down the classes a bit and get a part time job to cover expenses like food/apartment (I can't move her in with my parents). Assuming everything goes as planned (which is not likely), I'll graduate school, find an awesome job, make big bucks and everything will end happily ever after.

Problems I foresee with my plan:

-Getting rejected by her Embassy's consulate for my lack of income/job.

-Not having enough money for a place for us to stay

So, should i work full time and only go to school part time instead? Basically what do you guys recommend I do to get her over here while I'm still going to school. All constructive and helpful input appreciated. Thanks guys

In order to petition for your fiance, you must show that you are able to support her. If you are without income, you must find someone (family member, friend) who would be willing to sponsor her. You will have to submit the I-134 form from your sponsor.

If you have no money for a place to stay, where will the two of you live? You do not have to have your own place, but you do have to have an address where the two of you will live even if it's at your parents or with a friend. However, I must agree with "Haole". If you do not have the money for a place to stay, why bring her over here and put her through that? Besides, no address = no K-1 visa.

As others have said, you MUST have a place for her to stay and an income to support her, even if it means you turn to family to help.

The complication with all this is the foreign fiancee will need to obtain the visa in Manila where using a co-sponsor is "iffy" at best. We just got a report from another member who provided an I-134 from a co-sponsor but the circumstances were quite different. The USC fiance had recently started a well paying full time job, so was clearly able to support his wife.

The CO will be making a decision on whether the fiancee may become a public charge and the ones in Manila take this responsibility quite seriously. On this score, Manila is pretty much on the opposite end of the spectrum from London.

At USEM, it's pretty much, "No money, no honey."

I know it seems like you have to file now. But, I agree....finish school, get established, and then file. In the long run, it will cut down on a lot of problems. This process is so stressful. Add financial difficulties from the beginning and it's might be more then you can take.

Keep the faith. Good luck.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip
