seattle air port has stopped issuing temporary EAD / work permit to foreign fiancee so in order to get EAD can we choose to enter through JFK air port and than travel to seattle?

or we have to no choice...we have enter through nearest POE to where we actually suppose to live with our petitioner?

You can choose - just book a flight through a different airport. IE, India -> JFK -> final US destination. You'll go through customs/border patrol where ever your first US stop is. It might cost a little more for the flight to choose it that way.

do we have to mention our choice of port of entry in any of the documents before we get visa?

for example do we have to decide well in advance or at least before interview?

No you don't have to decide in advance. In fact, many people don't purchase their flights until they have their visa issued.

My sentiments exactly. Can't quite understand why so many people make such a big deal about going thru JFK just for this.

Well for instance, I can get a start with Lara's employers soon as I enter the US. Earning an extra few $$$$ will be very handy for paying AOS and other extra's. So I will be entering JFK to get my temporary EAD.

Fair enough I suppose, but I've no intention of going over there until I have a decent size wedge to bring with me - relying on a temporary work permit to see you through financially doesn't sound like the best plan of action to me.

Just my opinion, of course..........

It works for some but not for others Damian. It will certainly make my life easier and better if I go to JFK.

For Limeys, Irish and Europeans, the following alternate routes are available (as EU/UK citizens don't need visas to travel within Europe, and also to Canada):

  • immigration-only PFI's at Dublin and Shannon (need to clear US customs on landing in US)
  • Canadian airport PFI's, which do both immigration and customs clearance
Both are "make-or-break" (passenger boards US-bound flight ONLY if US entry approved).
