Every major country has some sort of negative history. Americans had slaves; which is quite pale in comparison to a lot of other countries historical events.

Which takes pretty much nothing away from the heinous acts committed by whites on blacks, women, Japanese, Chinese, Mexicans, gays, and on, and on. Boy, I sure should be prideful of THAT.

This sort of insistence on white pride is unfounded jealousy and a complete lack of education about the reason these people have pride. Not because of their race, or gender, or sexuality, but because they were persecuted BECAUSE of it. It wasn't their issue until someone else made it so.

That's exactly right. As far as these threads go this "White Pride" idea arises out of misguided political correctness.

Personally, I don't care who is proud of whatever they say or claim to be.

What I don't like is when this 'pride' becomes Pure Hatred against other groups. I have seen 'White Pride' become ignorant hatred directed against me so many times.

When I lived in Mid-Michigan, I met up with some proud White men in a yellow Camaro who saw me riding alone on my bicycle in Shiawasi County - alone. I was trying to ride Old Lansing Road from Okemos/E.Lansing all the way to Flint, MI. I wanted to see if I could do - what my body was possible of doing. Well, these 4 white men skidded in the middle of the street, and proceeded to call me 'N !GG ER' several times, acting like they wanted to run me down for being in their neck of the woods.

What exactly was I doing wrong here? I was alone, exercising, trying to IMPROVE MYSELF. I don't have any liking for when White men rally around their 'WHITE PRIDE' because my experience in life has shown me that the next step here is WHITE NATIONALISM - something that oftentimes leads to action against other groups.

I am however, proud to be an American - where we have laws against this kind of DOMESTIC TERRORISM directed against people like myself. So, I don't go around angering White men to the point that they would want to direct their hatred against me. I like to leave people alone, and just do my own thing. Even when provoked, I still leave people alone. But, when I feel that my life is in jeopardy, I give my 'LOOK TO KILL' and I am ready to defend myself to the death. I had to do this in Scandanavia 2 summers ago when I was ready to defend myself and my friends (and blond-haired Ex-Wife) against 3 Neo-Nazi skinheads - one of which wore a SKREWDRIVER t-shirt (google Skrewdriver if you think I don't know what I am talking about) - and they just walked away. They knew one of them would DIE because I wasn't ready to back down, and I'm not a big guy, but I don't BS when backed into a corner.

That was my last time in Eastern Europe/Scandanavia. I doubt I will ever go back.

What does it even mean to be "white" in America? I don't put any particular importance on my ethnicity as defining characteristic of my identity - I've never needed to. But then again - I (and the vast majority of other whites) have never had to fight for our identity.

I have never been to any other country where the majority of people are made to feel guilty about their skin color and heritage.

I've said this to you many times before - on the half a hundred threads that have been started about this. White "heritage" has more to do with nationality than ethnicity - being of French/Irish/German/Italian/British descent being more important than being "white".

We may pretend otherwise, but people are just like animals. We organize on tribal lines (like pj said) and the strong fukc over the weak. It' just how it is. White people have fukced people over plenty because in the last few centuries they've been ascendant. There was a time when the Persians and the Chinese and the Indians and the Egyptians were ascendant, and guess what? They were just as bad.

In the end, we're all just animals looking for a bigger meal (and a bigger car to carry it around in).
