All young women should read this

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles....aspx?source=nl

article about the HPV vaccine. The fact that it is now a required vaccine for young female immigrants is just another example of big business running the government.

Please send your congressmen an email stating your concern (not that it will do any good unless you are a multimillionaire and make huge contributions their election campaigns).

Take care.....

I believe you only need to have the first of three injections , and only for the AOS? .

Although I am not a fan of the word 'required' .

"When the HPV vaccination programme begins in 2008, women over the age of 18 will not be vaccinated as it would not be cost effective in preventing cervical cancer" That is in the UK.

I dont have a problem getting it, but it certainly wont be by choice, it will be because I have to.

Does anyone know if these vaccination requirements are country specific? If they aren't, is there any way around the HPV vaccine? My fiancee and I do not want her to have the shot based on numerous reports of paralysis and other various unexpected side effects..any thoughts? Thanks for help in advance =)

This vaccine is nothing short of a sterilization program.

Women, just tell your doctor you have objection on moral grounds for the vaccine and get a waiver. Or you could say you don't want to be experimented on (as efficiency of the vaccine is unknown currently and it only supposedly prevents against 4 types of HPV while you can have dozen others). It should be enough for them to tick the age inappropriate, contraindication or the waiver option.

Forgot to say - you could also say you're allergic to the ingredients of the vaccine "Anyone who is allergic to the ingredients of GARDASIL, including those severely allergic to yeast, should not receive the vaccine." So the solution is to say you have severe allergy to yeast (as we know we can outgrow some allergies so in couple of years you may no longer be "allergic" to yeast). Just my .02

there have been severe reactions to the hpv vaccine which is simply terrible but just remember that it can help prevent against hpv that causes cervical cancer.

Haven't read the posted links, did you?

no not country specific... vaccinations can be "waivable" for circumstance but only someone like a Civil Surgeon or Panel Physician can make that determination... simply being an "objector" probably will not qualify as a reason

also, a quick look on google shows this from a reputable source... http://info.cancerresearchuk.org/cancerstats/types/cervix/

* In 2005, 2,803 women in the UK were diagnosed with cervical cancer.

* Cervical cancer caused 949 deaths in the UK in 2006.

here is a government link showing the same information http://www.cancerscreening.nhs.uk/cervical...r.html#how-many

In 2006, 949 women died from cervical cancer in England.

compare that with the random blog on livejournal with random numbers on it... http://fairlyobscure.livejournal.com/19118.html

cervical cancer claims less than 3,900 women – most of which are due to not getting regular Pap smears. In the U.K., cervical cancer claims a mere 400 lives per year.

In Croatia, we have a list of mandatory shots and HPV is not (yet) one of them. They're trying to make it that way for all females under the age of 26. Until the vaccination is fully tested, it won't be made mandatory for sure.

I'm 31 and won't be given the HPV shot at the medical. As much as I understand the system (having talked to the panel physician and other doctors here, including an epidemiologist, I think I really do), no applicant from Croatia will be given this one, as well as some other vaccinations. Some depend on age, some on some other circumstances. The list of the mandatory ones in this country is pretty much long enough to cover all that's required for an immigrant to the US, anyway.

Suggesting someone lie is an even greater injustice...not to mention that it's against the VJ TOS.

Misrepresentation or circumvention of immigration policies has great consequences.

Try to get the vaccine waived in your home country, where its likely the doc won't be as controlled by the pharma companies as they are in the US.

Try having your regular doc write up a letter stating you are allergic to the ingredients, or something else.

Or, just wait till you are over 26 years old :)
