Hello all VT filers,

We keep hearing all of the horror stories with filing through the VT office and I wanted to ask some questions so that hopefully we can prevent from making errors in our journey process. We'll be filing in about 1-2 weeks from now for the I-130 and the K-3. I heard of some cases where people in CA have been able to file both their I-130 and K-3 together, by sending their petitions directly to the VSC. Is there anyone out there that has done this with the VT VSC? Or would it be better to just follow the directions and send to the lockbox and wait for NOA1 before sending the K-3 petition? I heard it shaves about 1 month off the process if you do it this way, but I worry about incompetent employees in VT messing up our application. Also, if we wind up sending it to the lockbox, I noticed there are two addresses. One is for "stand alone I-130" applications and the other one is for express mail delivery. What exactly do they mean by "stand alone" and if we are sending it express, what address should we use?

I hope someone can help use, we are just begining and trying our best to avoid any mistakes. Thank you all and good luck!
