HELLO GUYS...

AFTER THE TRAUMATIC EXPEREINCE OF WAITING IN PATIENTLY FOR 10 MONTHS FOR MY PETITIO TO BE APPROVED HERE I AM AGAIN BEING SCANNED UNDER A MICROSCOPE ... SAD TO SAY I HAVE TO UNDER GO SPUTUM TEST FOR 3 DAYS AFTER THE RADIOLOGIST FOUND A SO CALLED SCAR AND INFILTRATES IN MY CHEST X-RAY... ITS HARD TO ACCEPT FOR SOMEONE LIKE ME WHO HAS KEPT MY SELF HEALTHY .. TO GO THROUGH ALL THIS PROCESS. I HAVE UNDERGONE ANOTHER OUT SIDE SLEC, I WENT TO ST LUKES MEDICAL CENTER CUBAO AND EVEN CONSULTED A PULMONOLOGIST AND I ASK THE DOCOTR TO EXPLAIN TO ME WHATS ON MY X-RAY.. THE POLITE DOCOTR TOLD ME THAT YES INDEED I HAVE A SCAR WHICH COULD MEAN ANYTHING THAT I PREVIOUSLY HAD AN INFCETIONJ IN MY LUNG BUT NOT SPECIFIC FOR TB... IT CAN BE FROM PNEUMONIA, ALLERGY OR ANY INFLAMMTORY INFECTIONS THAT I HAD BEFORE THAT IS HEALED ALREADY. THEN WHY SUCH SCRUTINY FROM SLEC....

2WEEKS OF WAIT IS OK BUT ANOTHER 2MONRE MONTHS IS REALLY KILLING ME...

I NEVER GET SICK AS FAR AS I CAN REMEMBER, NEVER BROUGHT TO THE HOSPITAL EXCEPT WHEN I WAS A BABY THAT MY MOTHER TOLD ME I WAS HOSPITALIZED DUE TO PNEUMONIA THAT I ALMOST DIED WHICH PROBABLY I GOT THE SCAR FROM MY CHEST X-RAY. I WAS NOT DIRECTLY EXPOSED TO SOMEONE WITH TB, NO SIGNS WHAT SOEVER OF ANY KINDRELATED TO TB.. I GOT 3 DAYS MEGATIVE FOR AFB SPUTUM.. SO WHAT MORE DO THEY WANT... THEY ALL KNOW THAT EVEN YOU HAVE TB ITS TREATABLE AND MEDICATIONS CAN BEDONE HOME... BUT THEY MAKE IT SO HARD FOR EVERYBODY THAT ONCE YOU ARE POSITIVE HAVE TO TAKE MEDICATIONS EVERYDAY FOR SIX MONTHS YOU HAVE TO REPORT TO SLEC MANILA... MY GOODNESS WHAT KIND OF SYSTEM IS THIS. I JUST HOPE AND PRAY I DONT NEED TO GO THROUGH THAT 6MONTHS FOR 2MONTHS IS ALREADY HARDTO BEAR..

JUST SOME THOUGHT IN MY MIND THAT I NEED TO SHARE TO ANYONE.

hi, sis. we had the same experience. i underwent sputum test last june 16,17,18. thank God coz I got the results yesterday, august 20. NEGATIVE.

like u, i was very devastated, worried, and to tell u, i didnt mention this matter to my friends. my family and fiance and his fam are the only ones who knew about the sputum stuff.

i just wanna share with u what i did during the waiting period. I really prayed, i really told God to touch the container where my sputum was placed! hehe. i also read God's promises in the Bible. and i claimed them!one of those is this:

" BE STILL AND KNOW that I AM GOD."- psalm 46:10

I told God that He is the owner of this world,,, since I am HIS child, I really asked Him to bring me to the other part of the globe.hehe. and yeah, It's about to happen.(interview will be on tuesday! praise HIM. ) increase ur faith. coz we can move GOd's power thru it! hold on, girl. God has something to teach u. i was really humbled by GOD..He really stretched my character. I am more amazed and more in love for what He is doin in my life and in my fiance's life.

there's nothing wrong in complaining, but u know, u have done ur part... so, just wait and stretch ur faith. pray, pray, pray.

good luck on the sputum test..i have heard that some are getting negative results..u will get negative too..don't worry..trust in the Lord u will be fine!! God bless!

I went through my first day today and brought my old films + medical certificate since I also had previous PTB case. The physician in St. Luke requested more information so I have to go back to my pulmonologist in Makati. She told me to get the additional medical certificate that should indicate the medicines I took, dosage, and the duration. I will need to bring it when I come back for my x-ray results.

I am still not sure if they will require me to go through sputum test but after what i've read through the post here, it looks like I will have to go through it too. A couple of questions to you and to others who may have went through the same thing

1. If you had previous PTB case and you have med cert that says you have been cured, would they still require you to do sputum test?

2. If you go through sputum test and all 3 tests are negative, do they still require a culture test?

Thanks so much as another 2 months will badly hit our schedule and I am really hoping to fly to the CA on December during my boyfriend's winter school break >>> when we plan to get married.
