Had time this afternoon to go through all my documents and make sure I have all that I will need for the interview. When it comes to emails, I have printed up nearly 3 years of email sent and received logs from Yahoo and a about 3-4 emails a year from Nov of 2005. The email logs are pretty thick. Anyone have some input on maybe I just take 3-4 pages from different parts of every year to put with the emails to show the email trail? It would certainly cut down on the weight of the stuff I have to carry over. I already have more than I ever thought I'd need just to be on the safe side.

we ended up preparing 2 folders for the interview. a primary folder and a "supplemental" folder. we included all the required documents and no more than a reasonable amount of evidence (in our opinion) into the primary folder. we put all the "extra" evidence (that we felt was overboard and going to make us look crazy) into the other folder. also, i think there were a couple of other documents that we didn't think we needed, but filled out anyway and those went in the extra folder as well. the first folder was enough for the interview and she did not have to give anything from the second folder to the lady at the window.

good luck

I agree here. My kids didn't have two folders, but they had their documents and supporting evidence that was absolutely required in order in the front of their file. What is crucial is what is on the checklist. It's helpful to think about what the law requires for the type of visa being applied for, and how the consular officer thinks. Attention to detail helps. I noticed something on Bangkok's checklist about having one's biograhical info in order, so that's one thing we looked closely at. They wouldn't mention it if there hadn't been problems with it in the past. There are several forms where bio info is asked for, and it needs to be consistent and of course, truthful and accurate. I don't think any screener or consular officer wants to wade through mountains of evidence. A couple of pieces that are completly convincing are better than a thousand that are so-so. We probably over-did it with the I-134, but that is because my son didn't file taxes in 2007, and a transcript or copy of the return is specifically requested. If one doesn't have something they ask for, it needs to be expalined clearly, as in a notarized letter. They did specifically ask her how they communicated when apart - one of the three questions, but I don't know if they looked at the phone bills.

I wish smooth sailing for everyione who is interviewing in August! I guess there are no interviews this next week since Bush will be there.

My hubby talked to the kids this morning. They were out getting a massage. Oh, the life in Thailand. Why does anyone even want to come to the states?

I think NVC takes about 1-3 months. When it gets to KTM it will go very fast - I heard they schedule the interview right after they receive the application.
