yeah, well, I am cat sitting for a friend and both cats have taken to laying in the direct paths I walk to include the stairs. Then if I don't see them they scream at me for stepping on them, but does that stop them from laying there? No, they just give me that look like "watch where you are going". lol, sometimes I call my cat Amira instead of her name because she thinks she is a little princess, lol. Apparently I am a mere servent in her kingdom!

Yeah, they are the kings and queens of pure egocentrism! LOL! Mine can never understand WHY I don't want to watch them eat constantly. I mean, how boring is that? but they keep telling me to come over and when i get there they just start eating.

Ammar gave me his sickness. grrr. Sore-ish throat and runny nose, etc. He asked me how he could have given me that because he didn't think one could catch a runny nose (as if that is a specific disease and not a symptom). You know, as much as he claims to know about germ-theory of disease, I don't think it has really made it into the general population's psyche over there (thus the widely-calimed theories such as ice makes you ill, bare feet make you ill, no covers make you ill, etc). :)

Oh, good grief. My husband puts a towel over his mouth and nose when he gets out of the shower so he will not get sick breathing in cooler air after he gets out. His mother will make him dress warm too. I told him I would be sick all the time then because I don't do either of those things, lol. He says you never know when you got sick because he weren't cautious. I tell him I will take my chances since I get sick less often then he does!

Oh great, my cat and my friends cat have started their late night fighting. Once I go upstairs to bed they will take it up there. Their favorite place to fight is on me while I am sleeping! I've had to kick them out several times and the cat hasn't been here but a few days.

LOL! The A/c thing cracks me up. if A/C made you sick, then the whole US would be down and out every summer. I can't even imagine the towel over mouth/nose thing... and the strange part is that the logic you confronted him with will have no effect on the belief... that 99% of the 6 billion people in the world do NOT do this and do NOT get sick from not doing this is totally irrelevant :)

LOL fighting or playing? Yeah, well, they want to spend time with you and you should be up because they are up, right? :)

I think with time I can get through to my husband. I felt him cracking with my logic, lol. He has no problem with the A/C though. He says Iraqis love air conditioning. Its apparently starting to catch on more in Jordan because Iraqis are asking for it though I don't know if that is true for sure or not.

My Dh like A/C, but more or less wants to keep the thermostat at 80, which is stiflingly hot. I know lots of businesses, etc in Jordan have A/C. I think the main issue with it would be the cost of their electricity.

I think its just rough playing because usually they are fine together. As for me being up? God, I wish they didn't think that way. At least its not a work night. The other day I only got three hours sleep because of them (okay I was up late on VJ too that night, but still). If I wanted to be up all night with loud noise then I would prefer it be my child keeping me up (inshallah I will have a chance for that soon). No hope though, my own cat thinks I should be playing fetch with her when I am laying in bed asleep. She drops the toys right on me so if I don't wake up I find them on me in the morning, lol.

Before my husband left Iraq they were only getting about one hour of electricity a day. He would rush to turn on the a/c as soon as the power came on because you know how hot it gets. I told him if he ever gets homesick I will be happy to turn the a/c off. He was like "nooooo". He hoped I wouldn't be that cruel, lol. Of course I wouldn't but I had to harrass him a little.

Oh yeah. Well you have a young kitty, right? They grow out of all this eagerness. after 2, they start to settle down and by 6/7 you can usually tell another level of calmness that hits. So she won't drive you nuts forever :)

I can imagine. I would be all over the A/C! How were they working with food storage-- did they go back to the old methods?

My last cat was 10 years old and mostly calm by then, but she had her wild moments where you weren't sure how she got the energy, lol. She would just tear through the house back and forth and have a crazy look in her eyes.

I'm not sure what they did about food storage. I don't remember that I asked though I know his parents always prefer to buy most things as they need them. Then again with the security situation going to the market is taking your life into your hands. I'll have to ask him about that.

yes... most of us take refrigerators for granted and would be lost without them :) obviously, they are doing without it.

yeah, those older babies get wild moments too. I love it when my older cats find a toy and act like they are 2 again! I ca tell Ptolemy is beginning to feel old. He's 11 now, but he's slowing way down.
