RFE: Passport Clearance Certificate ...Please Help !!!

Hello All,

My cousin brother is in the process with NVC ... He submitted DS-230 on 07/23 and after around one week, called NVC to check the status and found out that "DS-230 is under supervisior's review." When asked the reason.. they are mentioning about PCC, which was not submitted.. He submitted passport CC along with all the other required documents. My sister-in-law's passport was isseud in July, 08 so didn't need the local PCC, so did not sumbit that but submitted the passport CC. DS-230 form is fine. according to NVC customer service (asked many times). They are not able to understand why this PCC quiery.. So the case is under supervisior's attention..What is wront than ??? I am not able sink this in.. doesn't make any sense to me....

Any comments or suggestions what to do in this..?? Please & Thank You..

To know the exact reason, NVC's RFE letter is needed. Wait for that. Does the PCC missing the entire period specified on the DS-230 item# 20. If that's not the reason, it will be a false RFE as I outlined in the document. NVC may be waiting for the checklist to be completed.

The PCC that we got from Passport office doesn't specify any period of stay at all.. Here is the format given on the Passport Clearance Certificate..

"There is no adverse information against ........name of the applicant........ holder of passport No .................. dated............ issused at Ahmedabad .. which would render/him inelgibile for the grant of travel facilities including visa for UNITED STATES OF AMERICA."

My sister-in-law's passport was issued on july 3rd, the next day did the application for passport PCC and got that on 15th july. So NVC operator was asking about dates a lot.. i think they are having confusion with the time frame.. since it is not much time between issue date of passport and issue date of PCC....

They have mailed the RFE on 31st july haven't received yet.. They are telling my cousin brother to wait 10 days for the review to be completed from the supervisior.. than only they can say something.. i don't understand anything..

I have checked with New Delhi police station(north branch) they clearly said if the period of your stay is lesser then 1 year in your area then only they mentioned the period . Issuing PCC for USA and Canada is there daily work they never mentioned period on PCC , they have set format for this and they cannot change it for anyone He showed me bundle of PCC's issued for USA and CANADA

So if your cousin's wife is from Delhi and staying the same address from more then 1 year then is format is fine

Thanks for the info.. My cousin brother got married in Jan of 08. So in my sister-in-law's passport her new address (my brother's house) came and the period of stay is less than 1 year. I checked with my brother and in her passport PCC.. they have not mentioned any period of stay at all .. In my previous reply to Loto.. i have wrote the format, how the actucal PCC we get in Ahmedabad..

I still do not understand why his case is in supervisior's review... ?? plus they are not saying any other information.. :devil:

I think what ever happens, happens for the best.... Today, my cousin brother got the RFE letter in the mail but the good thing is that his case was completed on Aug 6th 2008... :dance: :dance: ...I guess NVC got confused and did not know what to do..

Now nothing to worry about.... CASE COMPLETED....
