Hi Everyone!

I wanted you all to know that I appreciate all the work that has gone into this website. It has made some of the confusion of this process easier for me. :D I am just curious now about the service centers. Is there a specific one we must apply to (i.e. the one my boyfriend lives closest to)? He lives in Chicago and I am unsure as to where we can/cannot apply.....also is there one that is quicker than the others if we have the option to choose?

Thanks!!!!!

June 19th, 2006 - I129-F sent via Fedex (courtesy of my Honey's work) to arrive using next day delivery

Mid- July - Found out I129-F never left his company but is lost there.....need to gather and try again

August 2006 - Still waiting...maybe not the I-129F route anymore

You apply based on where you live - unfortunately there is no choice. For Chicago, he will send the petition to Nebraska. Good Luck.

Is Nebraska typically one of the slowest centers? According to the stats, it doesn't seem too bad but I am reading some really negative posts

Normally, Nebraska is not as fast as Vermont but not as slow as California or Texas. But the slowdown you see now is related to IMBRA, the new law, we think. That is affecting ALL service centers but hopefully we clear up soon.

I went through Nebraska and it took about 65 days....which isn't too bad but like they said there is a new law slowing some things down. To be positive it is probably only a temporary slow down so hopefully by the time you are sending the petition they will have gone back to normal!!

GOOD LUCK!!
