I wish they had these free samples or hospital give aways here LOL! If I can't breastfeed then we are flat broke!

Have you tried appling for WIC- women, infants and children. its for low to moderate income people and it helps with formula and such for the baby when they are born, and for the mother while pregnant while she is pregnant and nursing. milk, cheese, eggs, stuff like that.

Terrie, she is not having the baby in the United States. Thats the problem. She isn't in a country that has those programs.

I got the box S and S. I love the little swaddling cloth and I was so excited when I saw the diapers and bottles. Thank you from the bottom of my heart S and S.... I am really appreciative.

Oh good, I was hoping you got it okay. I saw on the website that they left it on your door. I forgot to ask for the signature requirement, but I guess it worked out. I'm not a big fan of swaddling myself, but the one I sent you seemed like you could keep it as loose or tight as you want and so not as bad. Glad you like everything. I enjoyed picking it all out!

I need to start seperating things. Is Henia having a boy or a girl? We need to really think about her. I feel very spoiled now LOL . We need to share the baby love\\\\

My baby will be so park avenue between all the onsies and your fancy bottles , s and s. Between you and Kelly baby is a hip baby. Thank you Thank you Thank you

We got the Aveeno Soothing Relief Creamy Wash, Soothing Bath Treatment, Soothing Relief Moisture Cream and the Soothing Relief Diaper Rash Cream. I definitely like the diaper rash cream better than desitin.

Wahri - I would love to send you a few things if you want to PM me your address.

Maybe we need to institutionalize this--MENA baby showers as a new tradition?

I will be happy to help in whatever way I can. What were you thinking of?

As for the bottles, honestly I don't know what is fancy or not. I haven't been around babies in years. My friends and family have had babies, but I am never around for it due to my job. As a teenager I took care of so many of them, but I never paid attention to what products the parents had. I just knew how to use them. When I shop for baby things I just go for what looks nice and practical. Those bottles seemed like they were good and I was able to get you the extra nipples in different sizes which looked good. Thats all I knew. Personally, I thought the recieving blankets were too cute, lol.

God willing, my husband will be here soon and I can start having my own babies. I am sure I will be asking for advice on what works and what is best. After too many years of not being around children beyond short visits to friends and family, my knowledge has definitely lessened in that department.

I am just very grateful for everything. I would like to pay things foward by fowarding things on to another expectant mom after. Thats why we really need a baby registry here at VJ. This virtual baby shower is the only baby shower I will have and it meant alot to me. I would like to pay things foward to another MENA mom. Henia needs things in Algiers so I want to get a handle on what would be easy and light weight to send her. Someone said something about a sling. I am just starting to get far along and I am just so glad this stuff came because it eliminated a ton of stress for me.. Thank you . Thank you. Thank you

carrie, zaid has eczema real bad too..its all over his head arms and legs...it looks like ringworm, little dry round patches..he is losing hair cuz of it too...it runs in me family and the one thing that has always worked is Eucerin cream right when their out of the tub, keep him wet, dont towel dry, and give him a good rubdown...zaids seems to be clearing up really well from it...

i wonder, kelly, do you think that would work for adults with eczema? i have it terrible on my arms and nothing helps, accept for something Kamal picked up in Morocco and i can't get here.

Thanks very much Terrie for the WIC suggestion. I was going to actual suggest that to Hanging in There ... but for me! I'm in Algeria! No WIC or any other programs here! LOL! But would be great since so many needy families here!

I tried Eucerin creme for myself in the past ... it worked wonders! But not sure on using it on babies.

Thanks very much for thinking of me K! We are doing OK you know ... I have the health problems with this pregnancy ... and mostly my fears lay in the care during the birth/aftercare of the baby. :crying: But can ya do? Destiny it seems let me stay ... having this baby here. Who knows what the plan of God was/is? Maybe if I had left, something would have happened in transit to me or the baby ... soooo ... maybe for the best. Allahu allem!

I am having a girl (from what they said) but when I had my daughter they told me I was having boy ... LOL! She turned out to be girl not boy ... so I am not counting on the sonograms.

I was thinking maybe we might go into labour around the same time ... you, me and JP ... since we are all about the same with the due dates LOL! That would be funny!

I appreciate it everyone, even for just reading this. And for helping out a sister (Hanging in there) when times are tough. That first year together is hard enough ... but add baby into the mix, then other issues ... waw real tough. I am happy to see people (sisters-females) sticking together. I would like to ask everyone to pray for Hanging in there ... and would like to ask also for me and my baby ... since this pregnancy has taken a BIG toll on me ... and I have so many complications. Even thou it is few weeks away, I will be happy to be able to move around again ... get these illnesses to go away and being me again!

Well if anyone can but really not important since I know shipping would be alot ... but items that are useful and not able to find here like: diaper "butt creme", nosesucker, baby powder (esp the mediated variety), hooded baby towels, neutral diaper bag travel diaper wipes holder (wipes here are cheap thin and almost worthless ... they still come in plastic packaging ... no holder for them, they get dry) and baby sling.

True as K said, no onies here ... they use the little t-shirts with little underpants here ... so I guess it works just the same.

Prena hope you feel better! Sucks being in bed doesn't it? I know the feeling ... 6m now in bed for me grrrrrhhh!

Thanks everyone! All my best wishes! And K: Praying for you with this labour, baby and your family's future! =)

please pm me your address. I am really worried about the birth location and where you are having the baby. You are having a "real algerian" baby complete with all the weird stuff everyone will do to you after the baby ( henna, swaddling LOL)

W, I'd like to send you something as well. Can you PM me your info? And, do we have a count as to what has been sent and what is still needed?

Maybe we need to institutionalize this--MENA baby showers as a new tradition?

Right now, I have about 30 onsies from kelly, bottles from s and s. Henia is needing things sent to her in Algeria right now and this is a big concern because of the shipping times. She wants butt creme and some other stuff and its next to impossible to order things from the web and send her. They have to be hand mailed and you know JP how long it takes for stuff to get there. The best thing you can do for me Jp is to help Henia because she is due the same time and doesnt have the benefit of babies r us.At least no one will swipe butt cream out of the mail or baby stuff LOL...Please concentrate on Henia, JP. I wish we knew someone going to Algeria in the next 2 weeks. We could have sent it to them . Drats
