They are always huffy and puffy until the 6th month mark before they become numb and regain their sense of civility cause the alternative is committing suicide. Honestly there are many people here waiting longer than 11 months on AP alone, including me, and for me the overall journey from engagement to now has been 3 years, and many more have waiting much longer than that.

So yes...all this negativity H&V are putting out there is for premature bitterness. Try 11 months in AP and come back and talk to me. Meanwhile stop being rude and killing people's dreams of getting out of AP quickly. Even though I may not love to see others fly through while I am stuck, I would still not wish AP on my worst enemy.

AP: Over 1 year.

Visa: Nov 2

US Entry: Nov 13, Alhamdulillah.

What is up with all the hostility HenryVilma? We spent 17 months on AP and because he is from Iran he had to travel to Turkey 3, yes 3 times, stay in a hotel and buy his meals there due to the embassy and background checks in addition to having to have another medical because the first one expired. And because Ankara does not accept mail UPS from Iran he had to mail everything to me to UPS to Turkey.

Rack that up as 17 months of AP, and more than $4,000 just for the paperwork, 2 medicals, and three trips. This is not including the filing fees, etc.

Really, I understand your frustration with the system but getting huffy will not make it go any faster or any smoother. There is a lot of support to be had here for when you are angry/frustrated/sad/lonely/ or just want to vent.

Try to channel your emotions into a positive channel such as bringing the entire immigration problems to the attention of DHS, DOS, your congressman, etc. and try to make positive suggestions for improvement.

We all deal with the wait in different ways but please do not be nasty here

Everyone (no matter HOW long you've been in AP) try to remember this: Everything happens for a reason. God is looking out for us and we have to trust what he has chosen for us. I know it's easier said than done. I mean... if you've read my posts lately I've been having breakdowns every other day. Even though it's been almost a year since I've seen my fiance, I am not bitter. I was upset and depressed a little of course. But bitter, never. And I would never bring everyone else's dreams down just because things were not moving along for me.

I think the being mean about this is the last thing anyone needs in here. We all have a lot of things going on (whether our significant other is with us or not) and we need to be here for each other. The last thing we need is negative energy.

Woosaaahh! :)

Those who go through it (may it b 10 days or 10 mons to 3 yrs) only knows how it feels!

Lets ignore the ignorants and see this as an 'opportunity' to practice our patience!

may God make this waiting period easy for us all! As long as we love our significant other, the dream will become reality one day... n the struggle / wait will pay off in future!

Lucks and prayers for all,

Yesterday is history, Tomorrow's a mystery. Today is a gift; that'swhy they call it "the present".

Will do. Please except mine.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
