Hi VJ community ,

we have called DOS to check on our visa status ,they just said that they can’t give me a status of the AP process, just that it is still in the AP process and that it is required by law that anyone traveling to the US get a “background check” and that is what this AP process is, a background/security check, that all persons must have one before they can travel to the US. She said if you don’t hear from consulate in a couple weeks, call back check again but she couldn’t give me any other info’s right now, she seen that you had your interview on the 28th July and that it is in AP processing, that’s what she could give us,I hope we hear some news very soon ,we have decided we wait another week then we contact DOS and Consulate again and also maybe get our Senat involved .

Please go to the 221g/AP processing forum. You will find a lot of information and help there. For now I can tell you this is standard process and my husband has been in AP for 11 months because his checks expired once after the 5th month.

Do not worry too much and stay informed. Your AP will be finished soon and the embassy will contact your husband very soon after the AP is done.

Tammy

AP: Over 1 year.

Visa: Nov 2

US Entry: Nov 13, Alhamdulillah.

Brings back nightmares, doesn't it??

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

ut oh.

very nice Don't listen to Henry&Vilma.

AP is typical and hopefully you'll be out soon. It is a good idea to get a Senator or Congressman involved.

My Tarik had his interview on July 15th in Casablanca. I was worried about the background check too. I didn't know how long it would take. But ALHAMDULILLAH it only took 10 days! You need to just chill and start planning his trip here. Talk about what he needs and what you will do when he gets here. It really shouldn't take long at all :) I will be praying for you. It will happen sooner than you could imagine :)

dude...u didnt go thru morocco either Nice guy you have your info, you just have to wait usually a matter of a few weeks at the most, some just days. Really at this point no one can give you a answer until it runs the normal course. Just keep on top of it you will be fine (90 days is no time to wait some have waited 18 months in review)
