I have a friend who is beautiful (inside and out), popular, caring, etc. She tells me that she lets men mess over her because she never had a good relationship with her father. This is a scenario that plays out in these sorts of relationships where the male spouse messes over his wife, and she waits for him to come back to do it all over again. Sometimes it is easier said than done to just "Dump him."
