Hi everyone,

I have an interesting situation that I am hoping someone has an answer to. I have applied for naturalization this month based on marriage to USC, looking at projected times for my DO my interview would not be until August 2009. Yesterday my husband, received a "soft" offer of employment from an American company in Dubai, the offer will be finalized within the upcoming couple of months. Of course, I do not want to be living here alone while he is in Dubai. I know there is that expedited naturalization is your spouse is employed abroad, can I expedite my existing application if the offer does come through? Thank you

Read this http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/M-476.pdf for more information regarding the requirements.

But, here is some info:

If you are at least 18 years old and:

Are the spouse of a U.S. citizen who is one of the following:

• A member of the U.S. Armed Forces;

• An employee or an individual under contract to the U.S.

Government;

• An employee of an American institution of research

recognized by the Attorney General;

• An employee of an American-owned firm or corporation

engaged in the development of foreign trade and commerce

for the United States;

• An employee of a public international organization of which

the United States is a member by law or treaty; or

• A person who performs ministerial or priestly functions for a

religious denomination or an interdenominational

organization with a valid presence in the United States

and You will be proceeding to join your spouse whose work

abroad under orders of the qualifying employer will

continue for at least 1 year after the date you will be

naturalized. Form N-400 should be filed prior to departing.

Good luck! :thumbs:

Nothing going on in Las Vegas? Bunch of contractors from WI went there during our slow down, also New Orleans thanks to Katrina, but they don't favor yankee outsiders coming in.

Ah Dubai, our gas dollar at work, government should have made a deal that all of our oil bucks were spent here making the worlds largest everything. Funny how we have to chase all over the world to earn a living where our bucks are going to. But not funny that the USCIS won't let you chase after those bucks. Just one more advantage of becoming a USC, if you don't starve to death first.
