For my fellow Indians as you guys know there has been some recent blasts in some cities in India especially Ahmadabad.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7528088.stm

If your spouse lives in one of the cities, you can have a valid case to send an expedite request to USCIS on humanitarian grounds...that his/her life is in danger with this serial blasts.

Just an idea... not a suggestion to take advantage of the situation but its a fact if somebody's life is in danger due to bombings it calls for actions to get them out of that place ASAP.

Dont know if that would work, maybe to people who were directly affected by the incident.

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

It works if your case is compelling enough. Make it strong, pile it up with evidence, news articles and a letter that should convince USCIS to consider your case. Try it. No harm in availing an opportunity.

Well it didn't work on our case and my hubby is in Lebanon and his country has been going through Violent turmoil for a while now, with many bombings and death. My hubby was stuck in his house for 2 weeks straight during the clashes of this pass May.... So good luck if you can get your case  Expedite on these bombings alone.

Nita

Might work, as it works for a couple of countries like Iraq or Afghanistan, which comes under danger zone. Well at least people can try, no harm in trying.

It would be interesting to see if USCIS would accept this as a valid reason. Keep us posted if anyone tries.

S_AL has tried it and got it.

Ask S_AL. And I may trt that too since my wife lives in Jammu ( where everything is closed for the past 10 days) and is considered a danger zone.

If your spouse is in the same cities where the blasts ocurred and/or there has been tensions recent and ongoing where they live and your spouse has or will be in harms way, definately call to request ur case to be expedited. But, you must be able to present good evidence of this by articles mentioning the area, by photos and anything else u can think of.

I requested expedite during the two week siege of beirut in may, and it was granted.

Good luck to all of u.

I agree with enough evidence (pics of blasts, news articles, map of the area where ur spouse lives etc) it should get approved.

Good luck for those who're going to send the expedite request. I hope it gets approved.
