I have to admit I laughed when I read that he was going to get a better price at an agency. All I can say is get used to saying "I told you so" because for some odd reason they don't think we know anything. lol....and the funny thing is that it will go on for a long time to come.

So I told Tarik to book his ticket for August 7th (a Thursday) so that he could be here on Friday so we could get our marriage license and get married at the mosque. The hurry is mostly religious. All my Muslimas in the house know what I'm talking about.

Last night, on expedia.com I found a flight from Casablanca to Paris to Newark to Columbus. 16 hours all together and he would arrive here in Columbus at 6:30pm (PERFECT) plus a one way flight was only $1,328.90. I begged him to let us get that trip because there were no better deals online at all. He said he was going to go to the agency and book a cheaper and better ticket. Well he booked a ticket for Friday and it was closer to $2,000 :( but ALHAMDULILLAH! Everything will be ok. I need to breathe. All of my frustrations in life are coming to a head right now with the excitement I feel for seeing Tarik again and it sucks that I am crying everyday because of other things and not jumping for joy because of Tarik.

GRRRR!!!!!! I wish I could be free to enjoy my happiness but people keep ruining it. Now I am at work and my face is splotchy and red because I've been crying. Now I need to find some makeup.

WOOOOSSSAAAHHHHHH

Not Muslims - just curious, why is there a hurry?

And congrats on your husband coming here! :)

The hurry is that living together while unmarried is Haram (a sin). So basically he'll be here, but I can't really ................ enjoy him ;) until we get married. SO, since the courthouse is closed on the weekends, I have to wait until monday to obtain the license from the court and then go to the mosque to get married. Make sense?

Won't God forgive you for a few days? I think he will. :innocent::thumbs:

God will (hopefully) but the community around here will be less forgiving. Also, since I work at a mosque, a bad reputation is the last thing I need right now. so... yeah.

They should marry you with the certificate, even if there is a waiting period.

I remember I made sure we went and got the certificate but bc of the waiting period we got that waived at the courthouse and married there. Then they didn't want to marry us at the mosque until that night when there was a dinner and lots of people I know. I was like, well... we are legally married, but not islamically married yet - so can I be alone with him until tonight or do I still need to be careful? It was friday and we were at Juma prayer, so one of my friends asked the Imam - he figured it was okay since we had let our intention be known at Juma and we were legally married which shows good faith intentions towards marriage (or something like that :P ) We ended up going out to eat with friends anyway, but I thought it was funny that it was the big topic of discussion after prayer that day wether or not we should be left alone together until our religious wedding that night

awwww mashallah I am sorry to say but this is such a beautiful thing we are discussing..... I remember how that felt lol...

It really is so sweet. My husband and I lived in sin for 13 days until we could get married in the courthouse - which only my family and his family knew about. We then had a 7 week wait until our Catholic ceremony. At first I was nervous and embarrassed, but then I got over it. Nobody else had to go through our whole K1 ordeal, so I figured I could live with the shame for 2 months. I will say that no one thought twice about it.

I pray that however it works out for you guys that it is wonderful to be reunited - you two will work it out on Allah's terms and on no one elses.

May you be blessed abundantly!:dance::dance:
